Цели.

  1. Активизировать изученный лексический материал по теме “Try yourself as a writer” в речи учащихся.
  2. Развивать навыки монологической речи у учащихся.
  3. Развивать память, мышление и внимание.
  4. Воспитывать интерес к изучению английского языка, к его литературному наследию.

 Оборудование.

Учебник “Enjoy English” 8кл. автор М.З.Биболетова, рабочая тетрадь, словари, доклады учащихся, портреты английских писателей, магнитофон, кассета к учебнику, карточки с индивидуальным заданием.

 Ход урока

Этапы урока Содержание
I. Организационный момент (3 мин.): - Good morning, boys and girls! I am very glad to see you. Sit down, please.-What is the date today? And what is the day today? Thank you.
II. Фонетическая разминка (5 мин.):

(на доске написаны разные жанры книг)

So, let’s begin our lesson. Look at the blackboard, please. Here you can see different kinds of books. Let’s revise them. Repeat after me: novels, science fiction, encyclopedias, scripts, plays, love stories, thrillers, horror stories, detective stories, adventure stories, fairy tales, essays. (p.83 ex.101,102)
III. Проверка домашнего задания (5 мин.): Your home task was to write a story about books you like to read using these questions as a plan:

- What kinds of books do you like to read?

- Why are you interested in these books?

- What Russian or foreign writers can you name who wrote these kinds of books? (Учащиеся зачитывают свои рассказы)

IV. Основная часть урока (25 мин.):

1. Сообщение темы

Today we are going to talk about “ Famous English Writers and Their Books”. For today Matvey, Sergey and Kate have prepared reports about William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and Arthur Conan Doyle. Listen to them very carefully, because they will check up how you’ll understand.

1. “William Shakespeare”

Questions: ( on the cards)

- When was W. Shakespeare born?

- What kind of a profession was he fond of?

- Were his plays staged in theatres or not?

- What are the most famous plays?

- W. Shakespeare wrote a lot of poetry, didn’t he?

- When did he die?

2.Учащиеся выступают с докладами (после используют контрольное задание на проверку понимания прослушанного сообщения другими уч-ся)

2. “Charles Dickens”

Task: Say: It is true; / It is false (on the cards)

- Charles Dickens was a famous American writer.

- When Dickens was 19 he became a parliamentary reporter.

- Dickens wrote a lot of books “Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Little Dorrit”.

- Charles Dickens died in 1970.

- He was not buried in Westminster Abbey.

3. “Arthur Conan Doyle”

- краткий рассказ о биографии писателя

- сценка “Sherlock Holmes” (p.83 ex.104)

Questions:

-What had happened with this student?

- Did you like this short play?

3. Аудирование “Talk about Libraries” Everybody likes to read books and it doesn’t matter if it is a book by a Russian writer or a foreign one. The question is - “Where can we get books? ” Of course, in the library. We have a library at school and do you go there? Yes, you do. Do you know anything about British school libraries? Let’s listen to what Mrs. Swan say about their school library and British teenagers. (p.84 ex.108,109) You will listen to the tape twice and then we shall answer these 5 questions. Let’s read them. You can make notes while listening to the tape. Are you ready? Let’s start.
