Согласно Декларации принципов толерантности, принятой Генеральной конференцией ЮНЕСКО (1995), “толерантность означает уважение, принятие и правильное понимание богатого многообразия культур нашего мира, наших форм самовыражения и способов проявлений человеческой индивидуальности..., это гармония в многообразии, это добродетель, которая делает возможным достижение мира и способствует замене культуры войны культурой мира...”.
Внеурочное занятие на английском языке “Многообразие культур” способствует воспитанию уважения свободы другого человека, его образа мысли, поведения. Учащимся заранее раздаются домашние задания с целью подготовки информации об англоворящих странах (Америка, Великобритания, Канада, Австралия, Зеландия и др.) Особенностью заданий является умение за короткое время раскрыть характерные черты поведения, культуры, традиций жителей той или иной страны. Фестиваль становиться ярким и интересным, так как звучат разные мелодии, учащиеся готовят разные костюмы, танцы, стихи и коллажи.

старшеклассников
“Многообразие культур”
Звучит музыка “Американская мелодия в стиле кантри”.
На сцене большой коллаж, по контуру напоминающий географическую карту Соединенных Штатов Америки.
Выходит группа участников фестиваля и хором проговаривают: We are from America.
Все участники в костюмах жителей американского континента и держат в руках американские флажки, книги, путеводители, рюкзаки, словари.
Ведущий: What is the United State of America?
Участники по очереди говорят:
- It is the most powerful state in the world.
- It is referred to as a land of superlatives.
- the riches;
- the greatest;
- the most.
Участники фестиваля показывают большое полотно из картинок с видами Америки и по очереди проговаривают.
- It is the land of Opportunity.
- A Melting Pot.
- A God s Country.
Ведущий: What is the United State of America?
Участники:
- It is a highly developed industry.
- World famous computers.
- First class cars.
- Delicious Mc. Donald s hamburgers.
(Участники показывают муляжи машин, овощей, фруктов, гамбургера, компьютера)
Один из участников спускается в зал и раздает рецепт гамбургера.
Ведущий: What is the United State of America?
Участник 1: It is a Melting Pot, it is a mosaic - a picture made by many different pieces.
(Участник держит в руках коричневый горшочек (его можно сделать из папьемаше), из которого вынимает разноцветное одеяло, сшитое из разноцветных лоскутов.
Одеяло ассоциируется с разнообразием жителей разных национальностей, населяющих Соединенные Штаты Америки)
Участник 2: America s strength lies in its diversity and in the contributions made by people of many different cultures.
Участник 3: America needs to preserve and encourage this diversity, while making sure that everyone has equal opportunity to succeed.
Ведущий: Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United State of America.
(На сцену выходит учащийся, играющий роль президента США и берет слово)
Участник 4: I am glad to see the representatives of the Russian youth here. As you know we are going to have a summit in May and we are going to discuss a wide range of problems with your President Mr. D. Medvedev.
We shall exchange views on the situation in the Middle East, in Afghanistan, disarmament and ecology. We are also going to discuss issues connected with economic, scientific and cultural co-operation and its development. I am sure we ll reach an agreement on a new plan for closer economic links, and a number of significant documents will be signed. We are good friends and we think about young people, about their future. Thank you.

- It is neither a European, nor the descendent of a European, hence that strange mixture of blood, which you will find in no other country.
- Here we are:

Ведущий пробует из горшочка “Мюсли”.
It is fantastic.
Участник 1: We think it is a symbol of Americans too.
This pot has being cooked for a period of 5 centuries. The corns of “Мюсли” were put into the pot in which the different races, different religious and different political points were mixed. And now you can see the visible product of it – the average statistical American.
Участник 2: You can not see a native American.
Ведущий: I see Hot dog.
Участники комментируют большой хот дог (его можно сделать из слоев поролона, закрасив каждый слой разными цветами):
хлеб – белый цвет (европейцы)
кетчуп – красный цвет (индийцы)
котлета мясная – черный цвет (негры)
сыр – желтый цвет (переселенцы с Востока)
Участник 3: The symbol of America is Mc.Donald's (на слайдах показываются виды кафе Mc.Donald's).
Участник 4: America knew the wars, but there is no division by religious signs, national signs, no problems. We live all together Russians, Chinese, Negroes.
Ведущий: What is it like to be a young person in the USA?
Участник 1: We face a certain number of problems, our relationship with our parents and friends, choosing a profession, problems at school which we may lead to use of drugs and so on.
Участник 2: To be more independent we try to have after school jobs.
Участник 3: We work part-time on weekends or after school at fast food restaurants, baby sit for neighbors, hold delivery jobs or work in stores.
Участник 4: Schools provide us with much more than academic education. We participate in student activities, such as sports, student newspapers, drama clubs, debate teams, choral groups and bands.
One of our students is a member of school pop group.
The group of boys and girls begin to sing a new song.
