Цель: повторение и систематизация изученного материала.

Основная задача: повторить изученный лексический, грамматический и страноведческий материал и активизировать его в устной речи.

Сопутствующие задачи: повышать интерес и мотивацию к изучению английского языка, расширять кругозор, воспитывать умение работать в команде.

Образовательная цель: познакомить учащихся с культурными особенностями разных стран мира.

Воспитательная цель: повысить уровень толерантности по отношению к товарищам по команде, научить уважать к культуре другой страны.

Развивающая цель: формировать устойчивую мотивацию к изучению английского языка и развивать навыки коллективной работы в малой группе.

Оснащение урока (мероприятия): мультимедийный проектор, ноутбук, презентация PowerPoint, мешочек с билетами для определения номера команды, «чемодан» с заданиями.

Ход мероприятия

1. Организационный момент // Organization part

Pupils enter the classroom where three different tables have already been prepared for them (The PowerPoint presentation with the title “Going on holidays” is on) When entering they receive a plane, train or boat ticket that determine the team they got into. Pupils take their seats according to their “tickets”.

Teacher: - Hello, my dear friends! I’m glad to see you! You may sit down.

Pupils: - Hello, teacher, we are glad to see you too.

Teacher: - Today we are going on holidays. Do you want to leave schools and go somewhere else?

- Yes!
Teacher:  - Okay, then, we are going! But I must warn you: during our trip we’ll have to do some tasks. The team who does them better will get some points. When we return home you will trade your points to your marks! It is clear?

2. Подготовка к путешествию // Getting ready for a trip

Teacher: - Before we start our journey, we need to pack our things. Here is my case! There are a lot of things in my case. Help me arrange them!

Teams take out the tasks from the “case” (an image on the board) and name the things mentioned in the task. The team who completes the task without help gets 1 point.

Teacher:

Teacher: - Well done, guys! Now we are ready to go… and our first stop is …

3. Путешествие: Париж, Франция // The journey: Paris, France

Teacher: - Can you tell me, what country is it?

- France

Teacher: - What is it?

- It’s Disneyland!

Teacher: - Disneyland is a fair.  What can we see in a fair? Look at the board, please. (points to the board where the crossword puzzle with the names of the rides is shown). There are 7 fair objects hidden there. Can you find them? The team who completes the task earlier gets 1 point.

(Pupils do the task)

Teacher: - Thank you, my dear! I love the way you work today.

4. Путешествие: Америка// The journey: America, Hollywood

Teacher: - We continue our journey. And our next stop is … What country is it?

- It is America!

Teacher: - Great! To learn more thing about this country, I have organized a guided tour for us. Listen carefully, because after the tour you will have to answer some questions.

(Pupils watch a video about America)

Teacher:  - Great video, isn’t it? But our guide has prepared some questions for us. If you know the answer, please, raise your hand and do not shout. The person who answers right, gets 1 point.

5. Путешествие: Италия // The journey: Italy

Teacher: - We continue our journey. And our next stop is … What country is it?

- It is Italy!

Teacher: - And see who is waiting for us at the airport! It is an Italian grandmother!

(on the board the word “grandmother” appears) Who can spell that word?

Teacher: - Good job! Thank you! Our Italian grandmother has got a task for us. From this very word (“grandmother”) you need to make up as many words as you can! You have 3 minutes to do it, please! The team that will have more words will get 3 points. Other teams will get 2 and 1 points.

(Pupils make up the words)

Teacher: - Thank you! You are so clever!

6. Путешествие: Африка // The journey: Africa

Teacher: - Our journey is coming to its end, but we have one more stop. What place is it?

- It’s Africa!

Teacher: - Right! What can we see in Africa?

- Animals!

Teacher: - You are right! Each animal has got a riddle for you. Here they are (points to the board). Read the and if you know the answer, raise your hand! You can discuss it with your team. Each riddle will give you 1 point.

(Pupils guess the animals)

- Fantastic!

7. Отправляемся домой // Going home

Teacher: - Now it’s time to go home! We are all tired and I think we should do some physical exercises first. I will read the fact, and if you want to say “yes”, you clap your hands. If you want to say “no” you stamp your feet. Ready? Go!

8. Подведение итогов // Results

Teacher: - We are finally at home. Did you like the journey?

Teacher: - That’s great, I liked it too! And now it’s time for us to trade our points to marks.

Teacher announces the team who has got more points than other. Members of this team get “5”s for the lesson, other pupils get “4”

- Thank you all for your activity! Goodbye!
