Класс: 7

Цели: освоить во всех видах речевой деятельности новые лексические единицы по теме “Экология”

Задачи:

  • научиться вести разговор об экологических проблемах: загрязнении окружающей среды, кислотных дождях, вымирании видов растений и животных;
  • развивать познавательные интересы в рамках урока;
  • воспитывать бережное отношение к природе, экологическую культуру.

Материалы и оборудование: УМК “Spotlight 7”( авторы В.Эванс, О. Подоляко и др), интерактивная доска, раздаточный материал, презентация к уроку.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент.

2. Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности учащихся.

- During this lesson we are going to discuss a very important problem. Now watch the film about the most beautiful planet in the Universe and try to guess the topic of our discussion. (Слайд 3).

- What are your ideas of our today’s theme of the lesson?

Ответы учащихся. Предполагается, что они назовут слова: ecology, nature, planet etc.)

- Yes, you are right. Today we’ll speak about our Nature and environmental problems on our planet. Тhis theme is so popular now because it is of great importance for everybody. (Слайд 4).

- Why is the problem of protecting our nature so important now? (Ответы учащихся)

- Today we will learn some new words, read a text and do a lot of exercises.

- But, at the beginning of our lesson we should have some phonetic drills.

Before reading look at the picture and the headings in the text. (Acid rain, air pollution, water and soil pollution).

Can you explain the problem?

Factories, power stations and cars emit toxic fumes. This causes air pollution and acid rain. Acid rain falls on the earth, seas and rivers. A lot of plant and fish are dying).

- Read carefully and fill in the blanks with the best word A, B or C. (Чтение вслух)

Listen and check your choice.

Then, explain the words in bold. (Варианты ответов учащихся).

On the desks you have got cards with these words. Let’s check your answers.

  • burn(v) - use a product to produce heat, light etc

- Make notes under the headings and give a talk about acid rain:

2) Now I’m going to read you one unusual letter. It is from a polar bear cub.

“I am a little bear. My mother is a polar bear. I live in the Arctic (North Pole). My relatives are big and strong polar bears. But we are very few now. We don’t have enough food because a lot of fish died in a dirty ocean. My mother is ill, her fur is thin and messy because of polluted air and water. They say very soon all ice will melt and we won’t have a place for living. Help us! ”

What feelings and thoughts have you had listening to this letter? What is it about?

Примерные ответы учеников: This letter is about problems of polar bears. They are dying. They have no natural habitats. They don’t have enough food.

Yes, I totally agree with you. Animals have a lot of problems. Hundreds of plant, fish, birds and animals species are already extinct on our planet.

There are some of them.1) Сameron black rhino, 2) Spotted green pigeon, 3) Huso, 4) Rafflesia. (Слайд 19).

But what is the cause of their dying?

3) Let’s watch one more film and tell me who can solve all these problems?

You could see how beautiful our planet is, but let’s talk about ecological problems of the Earth:

  1. What is the air polluted by?
  2. Are power stations and factories dangerous?
  3. Why are toxic fumes so serious for our nature?
  4. Are our rivers polluted? What are causes of it?
  5. Can you see pollution at the seaside?
  6. What do you know about acid rain?
  7. Why do many people not drink pure water?
  8. What is happening to the sea animals?
  9. Why have many species of birds and animals disappeared?
  10. Why do the people cut the trees down?
  11. Why is it so important to save the forests?
  12. Is litter a problem in your city?

- Let me read a poem:

- Every day they are dying out,

Some species of animals and plants.
Stop the environmental disaster,
Only now we have a chance.
The main question of our lesson:

What can WE do to keep the Earth clean and healthy?

4) Look at the board. We have a task. One group of our class will answer what we should do to save our Nature; another will say what we shouldn’t do. Работа в группах. (Слайд 21).

We should:

  • plant trees;
  • become vegetarians;
  • help homeless animals;
  • use water more economically;
  • use bicycles more than cars...etc

We shouldn’t:

  • throw litter into rivers, lakes and forests;
  • cut down trees;
  • kill animals, insects and birds;
  • pick wild flowers;
  • burn fire in forests...etc

- You have done a lot today. I am very glad. But I hope the most important thing is you began to think of future of our Planet.

7. Информация о домашнем задании, инструктаж о его выполнении. (Слайд 22).

Now, write down your home task. It is on the screen. It’s Exercise № 1 page 47 in your workbook. Match the words in A to the words in B and complete the sentences. And ex. № 3 the same page. Translate this text from Russian into English and do the quiz.

8. Рефлексия. Подведение итогов.

- I think our lesson must be finished with words by Prishvin: “To save our Earth is to save our Motherland ”.We are happy to live on our planet. And we must keep our planet for future generation.
