Сохранение народной культуры, старинных обычаев, традиций и языка своих предков, обращение к родным истокам, к исторической памяти поколений значимы для каждого народа. Ведь в той или иной степени мы все являемся носителями конкретной национальности. И нам комфортно на этой земле, пока живы наши старинные традиции, пока мы знаем и помним, кем были наши предки, как они жили.
Мне бы очень хотелось, чтобы мои ученики смогли донести богатые знания о родной чувашской земле, традициях и обычаях на иностранном языке до наших будущих перспективных деловых партнёров, инвесторов, любознательных туристов, деятелей культуры и науки, студентов из зарубежных стран, чтобы смогли заинтересовать их. увлечь. наладить двусторонние взаимовыгодные контакты.
Постоянно расширяющиеся международные связи ставят передо мной, учителем английского языка, задачу не только обучать иностранному языку как средству общения и обмена информацией, но и воспитывать и развивать чувство гордости за свой народ, за самобытную чувашскую культуру. Предлагаю вниманию своих коллег читателей журнала, урок «Древние традиции и обычаи чувашского народа».

Цели и задачи урока. Today we аге going to have an unusual lesson devoted to the ancient traditions and customs of the Chuvash people. We'll read and discuss the texts, ask and answer the questions ,make up the dialogues, listen to the Chuvash songs and play the quiz games. We usually have a lot of guests from different countries of the world and your task is to tell them about our Chuvash customs and traditions.

P1: As for me I would like to take part in fishing. My father and I always go fishing on Sundays. I am dreaming about catching a lot of fish in our beautiful country pond.
P2: I would like to participate in dressing rites because after leaving school I wish to be a folk costume designer. To my mind, it' s very important to keep the traditions of the Chuvash colourful costumes.

Folk Rituals of Chuvash
The Chuvash ritual culture is original and unique. It traces go back to ancient times. A ritual is a core that links the past and the present. Rituals preserve well - known valuables such as agreement in a family, love for nature, honesty, modesty, kindness.
Studying cultural ethnohgraphy is especially important for modern society. A ritual is the basic factor in the life of people. It reflects all their sides.
The Chuvash people have different rituals: rural, domestis, individual .Most rituals look more like festivals. Uchuck, for example, is a rite which takes place in connection with bad harvest or some diseases. Old men and boys collect money first. On the very day of Uchuck everybody washes and puts on clean underclothes. A sacrifice of a bull or a horse is made. It is watered. People pray to the east, to the God - Tura. Then meal is eaten with prayers to Tura. They pray for the harvest, for health.
Kirimet is another ritual. Kirimet is a ritual sacrifice to God. Kirime tis a good spirit with the Chuvash people. Every village has its own Kirimet. The rite is made before ploughing.
Domestic rituals are the most significant in the life of the Chuvash people. They are devoted to Nature ghosts.
They are also individual rituals. They are against diseases, enemies, before eating,fishing rites, dressing rites.
It is interesting to know that all the rites must be done secretly, better at night. Nobody must see them.
Rituals and rites are very important in the life of Chuvash people. They keep up nation's morality and unite people.
