This lesson is based on the BBC video "Christmas kindness" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJxfrCm-KFU&t=187s . "Christmas kindness" is a charity event that is organized on the eve of Christmas to help those who have no means to celebrate this holiday. Besides, this lesson will include the speaking tasks to discuss the concept and the creative task to personalize the information.
Aim: By the end of the lesson, the learners will have practiced listening skills on the topic of the charity event "Christmas Kindness".
Sub aim: the learners will practise speaking skills

Lesson Plan
1. Arouse interest and pre-teach some lexis
Show the students these words and ask them, in pairs, to guess what they think the recording will be about.
2. Feedback on the task
Listen to students' ideas and write them in short on the board.
3. Practice in listening for gist
The students will listen to the recording https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=VJxfrCm-KFU&t=187s and see if they were right.
4. Practice in listening for detail

5. Feedback on the task
Check the students' answers and give the feedback.
6. Post-listening task
The student will work in pairs answering the questions on the presentation slide.
Discuss with your partner:
- Do you like the idea of "Christmas Kindness"? Why/why not?
- Have you ever taken part in any charity events? What was it? How did you feel?
- What is your opinion why people do charity?
- Would you like to do something kind before New Year? What could it be?
It is possible to discuss some of these questions in the group.
7. Creative task or something for home task
The students will write their own ideas of Christmas Kindness. This can be done on the paper bulbs that can be hung on the string lights in the classroom.
