  1. Today I want to talk about Alex Steinweiss, a graphic designer who revolutionized the world of music.
  2. Conveying musical rhythm, melody, and emotions visually is quite a difficult task.
  3. Before Alex Steinweiss, a New York graphic designer, music records were packaged in simple brown paper sleeves.
  4. His idea of creating vibrant images on packaging was a huge success.
  5. In one month, the number of albums sold increased by 800 percent.
  6. From 1939 to 1945 he worked for Columbia Records.
  7. His works are original, full of air and those musical vibrations that are sealed in the packaging.
  8. Alex Steinweiss is unique in that he created more than just advertising packaging.
  9. These were mini posters, mini stories about musical works in the tradition of French and German graphic design of the 1930s.
  10. Steinweiss' works tempted music lovers who came to music stores, and then forced them to rush home to take the promised masterpiece out of the envelope.
  11. Working in the "pre-computer era," he not only wrote fonts by hand and created his own font, Steinweiss Scrawl.
  12. With the development of printing processes, record companies increasingly began to prefer photographs of performers on the covers of music albums to graphics.
  13. In the 50s, Alex Steinweiss left the company and took up his own creativity.
  14. His contribution to the history of graphic design was not appreciated for some time, but now Alex Steinweiss is rightfully considered one of the unique graphic designers.
