Цели и задачи урока:
- Сформировать представление о способах защиты окружающей среды, используя лексический материал данной темы.
- Воспитать чувство ответственности к себе и окружающей среде.
- Отработать лексический и грамматический материал по темам" Экологические проблемы", фразы, выражающие уверенность и надежду, используя их в диалогической речи.
- Совершенствовать навыки говорения, чтения, аудирования и письменной речи.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
Good afternoon,dear guests. You are having a wonderful chance to be present at the conference concerning "Environmental issues". Today we see three various groups of people in this hall. They are scientists, journalists and ordinary residents of our town. All of you have similar desire to solve environmental issues under the heading of great English historian Thomas Fuller
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.
The scientists have three topics for discussion at today's conference, you see these problems on the screen:
- Adopt a tree
- Why are rainforests being destroyed?
- Earth alert!
After their presentation you can ask questions about the problems you are interested in and at the end of the conference you can give a voice for the report you like most of all and put your voice into special box.
II. Основная часть
You can see some papers on your desks. These are short quizzes about environmental issues. If you like you can match the humans actions with their consequences and discuss them with your relatives and neighbours.
So we start. The first person we are listening to is Vadim Markov with his topic Adopt a tree.
During his presentation ordinary people discuss the opportunity of having an adoption of something (Students book exercise 3a page 67).
Thanks a lot for your presentation,Vadim. Do you have any questions to the presenter?
- How much the adoptions cost?
- Can I adopt an animal or only a tree?
- What do you get when you adopt an animal?
- Can I join my relatives or friends to this action?
Now you have a unique chance to get an adoption certificate from our organization. Are there any volunteers to have them? Nice. This is the form which you should fill in and return me back.

It's for us, the trees, and animals, too.
Mother Earth provides us with what we need,
But she can't fulfill humans' constant greed.
Her resources are limited, and she is running out.
Listen to her warnings, cries, and ongoing shouts.
We have polluted her land, water, and air.
This shows Mother Earth how little we care.
We have ignored her for a long enough time.
How we treat her is nothing less than a crime.
May we learn from the mistakes as fast as we can,
Because can't you see destruction has already begun?
