Mr. Peterson and Mr.Smith have arrived in Moscow to take part in the conference. Mr.Petrov is meeting them in airport.
Vladimir Petrov: Excuse me, are you Mr. Smith?
William Smith: Yes, That's right. My name is William Smith. I'm from Toronto, Canada.
Vladimir Petrov: My name is Vladimir Petrov, Director of Marketing Department. How do you do.
William Smith: How do you do, Mr.Petrov. Let me introduce my colleague to you. This is Mr. Andrew Peterson, Manager of the Dealing Department.
Vladimir Petrov: How do you do.
Mr.Peterson, I'm pleased to meet you. Welcome to Moscow.
Andrew Peterson: How do you do , Mr.Petrov. Nice to meet you.
Vladimir Petrov: No problems with the luggage?
William Smith: No, everything is all right.
Vladimir Petrov: So we can go now. How was the flight Mr.Peterson? You are not tired,I hope.
Andrew Peterson: Everything was just perfect.
Vladimir Petrov: Do you travel much?
Andrew Peterson: Yes, I often go on business abroad. This year I've been to Great Britain, France, Spain and the United States.
Vladimir Petrov: What languages do you sspeak, Mr.Peterson?
Andrew Peterson: I speak French, German, Italian, Spanish.
Vladimir Petrov: Do you speak Russian?
Andrew Peterson: Unfortunately, I don't. If I had the chance, I'd be glad to learn it.
William Smith: Have you noticed what wonderful weather we're having!
Andrew Peterson: A perfect day! That's why I hope our visit will be successful.
Vladimir Petrov: I hope so too. On our part we'll do our best. Here is our car. Put your suitcase in the boot of the car, please.
William Smith: Can I put this bag on the seat here?
Vladimir Petrov: Certainly! Are you comfortable?
William Smith: Yes, thank you. Do not worry, everything is just perfect!
Vladimir Petrov: Then let's go. To the hotel, please.

Mr.Peterson and Mr.Smith are planning to spend three days in Moscow. They have just come to the hotel where they would like to stay at.
Andrew Peterson: Good morning!
Clark: Good morning!
Andrew Peterson: I've booked two single rooms beginning Tuesday.
Clark: Your names, please.
Andrew Peterson: Andrew Peterson and William Smith.
Clark: Here you are. Fill in the form, please. How long are you planning to stay?
Andrew Peterson: We are expecting to stay for three days.
Clark: Sign here, please. Here are your keys, room fifty-one and room fifty two.
William Smith. Where can we buy English and Canadian newspapers?
Clark: At the newsstand downstairs. There they sell the Times, the Toronto Star.
William Smith. Do they accept dollars?
Clark: Yes, but if you want you can exchange money at the exchange office.
William Smith: Splendid! Let's go there.
Andrew Peterson: I'm afraid I feel like having something to eat.
William Smith: I'm also hungry. Where is the restaurant?
Clark: It's downstairs. It should be closed now. But there are coffee stalls and snack-bars on the floors of the hotel.
Andrew Peterson: Can we have breakfast in the room?
Clark: No problem, you can order it by phone.
Andrew Peterson: That's nice. Whom can I ask to wake me up in the morning?
Clark: Please dial the room service number and ask for morning call at the time you desire.
Andrew Peterson: Thank you.

William Smith: William Smith. Manager of " Balley and Company. I am an economist.
Andrew Peterson: I'm Andrew Peterson, Manager of the Dealing Department.
Registration officer: Your profession, please.
Andrew Peterson: I' am a lawyer.
Registration officer: Have you already paid your fees?
William Smith: Of course, we have. Here are the copies of our payment orders.
Vladimir Petrov: The schedule of the conference is very busy: sittings, discussions, round table talks, interviews, exhibitions and a large social program.
William Smith: What does a social programmer include?
Vladimir Petrov: Visiting art galleries, museums, theaters, monuments. If you wish to visit this places you should check in the program tomorrow morning.
William Smith: Fine, I'd like to see as much as possible.
Andrew Peterson: Where will the opening ceremony be held?
Vladimir Petrov: In the conference hall. Tomorrow we'll meet at our Head office and discuss the terms of our contract.
Andrew Peterson: O.K.

William Smith: Good afternoon! Nice to see you again, Mr.Petrov! You are looking Well, I must say. How are things with you?
Vladimir Petrov: Not bad, thank you. And how are you?

Vladimir Petrov: Will you sit down. Make yourself comfortable. Tea or coffee?
William Smith: Coffee, please.
Vladimir Petrov: Well, let's get down to business. I expect you want to discuss our new contract.
Andrew Peterson: That's right. Have you seen our latest price-list?
Vladimir Petrov: Yes, and there is one thing in it we can't agree to. The price is unreasonably high. We are in close touch with the world market and our information is that your competitors are quoting lower prices.
Andrew Peterson: It is true. The price is high, but you should take into consideration the fact that this model is the latest word in electronic industry.
Vladimir Petrov: We know all that. Will the final price depend on the quantity of computers we'll buy from you, Mr. Peterson?
Andrew Peterson: That's right. If you increase your order to five computers we'll be able to provide you a 2 per cent discount on the price.
Vladimir Petrov: We've been in business with you for a long time and we hoped you would offer us better terms.
William Smith: We can extend the guarantee period by three months.
Vladimir Petrov: That's fine, thank you. These terms are more favorable. Is transport packing included in the price?
Andrew Peterson: Yes, of course. We pay a special attention to this matter. We do our best to satisfy our customers and make our product really competitive and attractive for overseas markets.
William Smith: Do you agree to the other terms and conditions?
Vladimir Petrov: Yes, quite, I think we've settled all the matters. I suppose we can start drawing up a contract.
Andrew Peterson: We hope our cooperation will be useful and mutually beneficial.
Vladimir Petrov: There are good opportunities ahead for our companies and we must try not to miss them.
