1. Организационный момент. Постановка цели. (3 минуты)

I see that most of you like to read and nobody of you knows about Gerald Durrell. Today, we will talk about this famous writer and read one of his books.

14 слайд. The verb to be has two past tense forms: the singular form is was, the plural is were. Note that we don't use Did in negatives and questions with was/ were.
15 слайд. Let's practice this rule. Fill in the table. In the second column there are verbs from the story in the Past Simple Tense. You must write the infinitive in the first column and their translation in the third column. Begin working and then we will check together.

Цель урока: формирование лексических навыков по теме, развитие навыков разговорной речи.
- Образовательные задачи: фонетическая обработка правильного произношения слов, обучение чтению новых слов, развитие навыков употребления нового лексического материала в речи,
- Воспитательные задачи: воспитание чувства коллективизма и взаимовыручки, развитие умения правильно оценивать себя и других.
Задачи урока: закрепление навыков техники чтения вслух; тренировка навыков вопросно-ответной работы по тексту; развитие лексических навыков.
а) основные (коммуникативные):
- совершенствование навыков работы с текстом (изучающее чтение);
- развитие умений обучающего чтения;
- формирование умений оценивать полученную информацию, выражать свое мнение;
- совершенствование умений говорения учащихся (монологической и диалогической речи) по теме;
- овладение умениями общаться на изучаемом языке.
б) сопутствующие:
- совершенствовать фонетические и лексико-грамматические навыки в рамках выше упомянутых речевых умений;
в) развивающие:
- развивать память и внимание учащихся;
