Procedure:

Step 1

Show slide #1.
Students describe the picture in turns. One student - one sentence.

Aim:

To revise some grammar structures, e.g:

1. There is/There are… I can see…/
2. He is /holding a glass/.
3. He's got /dark hair/.

To revise some vocabulary, e.g.:

1. Adjectives (tall/short/dark/square…)
2. Colours
3. Prepositions of place
4. Clothes

To identify and remember as many details as possible.

Step 2

Divide the students into two teams. Get both teams to stand in lines facing each other. Draw a line between the teams.
Decide which team goes first.
Show slide #2.
Teams in turns compare two pictures. (In this picture the woman is holding an apple. In picture #1 she's holding a pear.)
If the answer is correct, the team makes a step forward.
The team that reaches the line first wins. (You might want to award points for correct answers, in this case the team with the highest score wins).

The teacher has to make sure that all the students participate and might want to nominate a student to answer to avoid confusion,
If your focus is on accuracy, award points only for grammatically correct sentences.
