Preparation:

material - 3 texts about 3 different places (on the same topic)

preparation for learns:

- read each questions to find out what information they need to lok for in the texts. For each question students should quickly read the texts and try to find the parts relevant to each question.

- after finding a relevant piece of text, students should read carefully to check wether the part of the text answers the questions

- before choosing the answer, students should check that the other texts don't contain anything that could answer the questions. if one of them does, they must decide wich text the best matches the questions

Procedure:

Step 1. divide class into 3 groups m making sure there is a mix of stronger and weaker students in each group. First group reads the first text, second - the secnd text and the third-the third text. Ask to read their text quickly to try to answer as many questions as they can.

Step 2. Then put the students into groups of three where each student has read a different text and ask them to share their answers

Reflections

When I divide class into 3 groups sometimes stronger students do everything isstesd of weaker students. But more often stronger students help weaker ones and I ecourage stronger students.
