Preparation:

Get ready the video. Print pictures

Procedure:

Step 1. Show pictures and revise lexis "feelings and emotions"

Show picture 1 and ask: Is Trotro happy or sad? Why?
Students brainstorm adjectives. Elicit best words, which match to the pictures

Step 2. Present the target vocabulary:

Squashed raspberry
1. Basket is empty
2. Plump
3. Fall over
4. Tasty cake

Step 3. Ask students to put pictures to make a story. Play the cartoon.

Step 4. In pairs, students retell the story.

This exercise can be used for developing speaking skills as well.

Reflections

Anticipated problems:
1. Students might be not familiar with tenses, so it would be better to have a poster with a rule of forming Present Continuous tense.To do this exercise you should revise Present Progressive, Present Simple of verbs to be, to have. It's also important to teach the construction to be going to.
2. Possible adjectives to describe feelings: happy, sad, joyful, excited.
