Level(s): |
Pre A1-A2 |

Exam part: |
Reading and Writing |
5 |
Aim(s): |
To read, dictate and write the text (or some sentences) as fast as possible; to collaborate using communication strategies |
6 |
Materials needed: |
Short texts (or some sentences) on the blackboard, pictures, copybooks |
7 |
Preparation: |
Select a picture and a passage (5 or more sentences describing it) from the coursebook |
8 |
Procedure: Step 1. Divide the class into groups of 3-4. Step 2. Stick the sentences for each group on the wall in different parts of the classroom. Put the pictures on their desks. Step 3. One student from each group should run to the text, read and remember one or more sentences, go back and dictate it to the rest of the group. Then the other member runs to the wall and remembers as much as he can. Once they've finished, the groups take their texts off the wall, compare and correct spelling (count their mistakes). Step 4. Now the students look at the pictures, read the sentences and choose 'Yes/ No'. Then they write their own descriptions.
Step 5. When the groups are ready, they read the answers (one in a round) and add some of their own sentences.

Variation(s) |
It'd be useful if the students managed to add some more sentences of their own. Then they would get more points. |

Reflections |
Ask the students to write what they have learnt on a piece of paper, wrap it and make a snowball. Give them a signal to throw their paper snowballs in the air, pick up nearby snowballs and read them aloud. |
