Цель: обобщение материала по теме «Времена английского языка» (настоящее простое время, настоящее завершенное время, настоящее продолженное время, прошедшее простое время, будущее простое время); закрепление грамматических навыков, активизация устной речи.
Оборудование:
- карточки зеленого и желтого цвета (по количеству обучающихся для 2-х команд), презентация на тему "English Tenses",
- грамматические задания на карточках для 2-х команд, нарисованный поезд на отдельных листах с порядком слов в специальном вопросе:
- паровоз - вопросительное слово, например When
- 1-й вагон - вспомогательный глагол, например do
- 2-й вагон - подлежащее, например you
- 3-й вагон - смысловой глагол, например go
- 4-й вагон - дополнение (если есть)
- 5-й вагон - обстоятельство места (если есть)

(составлено по образцу из учебника "Rainbow English", 4 класс) - 2 плаката с изображением апельсинового и сливового деревьев, карточки с изображением апельсин и слив; фишки в виде звёздочек.
Условия игры: команды отвечают по очереди. Если команда не может ответить на вопрос, право ответа передается другой команде. За сложные правильно выполненные задания дается 2 фишки (звёздочки). За более простые - 1 фишка.
Ход мероприятия
- Good morning, dear friends! Today we'll do different tasks and exercises on the topic "English Tenses" and we'll find out how well you know English Grammar. For every right answer you'll get 1 star. But if the task is rather difficult you'll get 2 stars. And now meet my helpers Emily the elf and Harry the troll. They'll give you green and yellow cards to form the teams for today's competitions.
Учитель приветствует детей и объясняет правила соревнования. Она знакомит участников со своими помощниками. Это ученики 9 класса, одетые в героев учебника"Rainbow English" начальной школы эльф Эмили и тролль Гарри. Они помогают учителю сформировать команды с помощью зеленых и жёлтых карточек. Те обучающиеся, которые взяли зеленые карточки, объединяются в одну команду, жёлтые - в другую.
Game 1
- The first task for you to read the sentence and name the tense. My helpers will give the cards. You have 4 minutes. You'll get 1 counter for the right answer.
Учитель дает 1 задание: прочитать предложения и назвать время. 1 фишка за правильный ответ. Время выполнения - 4 минуты.

- That's right, boys and girls! It's time for the fourth task. You should think of 5 sentences in Past Simple and write them on the sheet of paper. Then you'll exchange your works and put these sentences into Present Simple. For every right sentence you'll get 2 stars.
Учитель объясняет 4 задание: придумать и записать предложения в Past Simple, затем поменяться предложениями с другой командой. И переделать эти предложения в Present Simple.

Проверка: команды по очереди зачитывают предложения. Одна команда свое предложение в Past Simple, другая - это же предложение в Present Simple. Затем команды меняются. За каждое правильное предложение команда получает 2 фишки.
- So, it's time for our last game. I want you to ask questions to the sentences given on the slide. You should begin your questions with the words Who, What, Where, With whom. They are on the blackboard. You can look at the train on the blackboard to remember how to form Wh-Questions. Every team will get 2 sentences. For every right question you'll get 2 stars. Учитель объясняет 5 (последнее) задание: задать к предложениям на слайде специальные вопросы, начиная с вопросительных слов Who, What, Where, With whom. Учитель вместе с участниками вспоминает порядок слов в специальном вопросе, опираясь на изображение «поезда».

Учитель привлекает внимание обучающихся к плакатам на доске. На одном плакате - апельсиновое дерево, на другом - сливовое. Плодов на них нет. Эмили и Гарри раздают детям карточки с изображением апельсинов и слив. Участникам конкурса нужно прикрепить на соответствующее дерево апельсин, если мероприятие понравилось и сливу, если не понравилось.
