Задачи урока:
- Образовательная:
- создать условия для активизации лексического материала по теме;
- применения усвоенных знаний в нестандартной ситуации;
- расширения коммуникативного опыта.
- Развивающая:
- создать условия для развития коммуникативных умений в высказываниях по теме;
- творческих способностей учащихся;
- развивать мыслительную деятельность учащихся;
- способности к обобщению;
- развивать умение аргументировать свою точку зрения.
- Воспитательная:
- способствовать формированию нравственного, позитивного режима общения при обмене мнениями;
- повышению мотивации к изучению английского языка.
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент
Teacher. Good afternoon. We welcome you to our Travellers’ club TV show! Our problem is why people like travelling? Why is travelling the most popular pastime nowadays in spite of the fact that it is rather risky and dangerous? So let’s discuss the problem.
2. Основной этап. Работа по теме
1. How many times a year do you travel?
P1. I like travelling but I usually travel once a year. My parents work a lot, so we don’t have an opportunity to travel more often. But in August when they have vacation we leave for the sea. This journey helps us spend more time together and relax.
P2. Personally, I travel twice a year because my parents also have a lot of work to do. In addition, travelling is expensive nowadays. But we like to visit new places and learn the traditions and customs of other countries and peoples.
P3. I usually travel once a year to the southern countries. As a rule, my trip lasts for about two weeks. So, I think that it is enough to have a good rest.
2. Which means of transport do you prefer?
P1. I prefer both the bus and the train. Each type of transport has its own advantages. As for the bus, the ticket price is small. But trains are more convenient for long distance travelling.
P2. As for me, I prefer to travel by car. In my opinion the car is one of the most convenient means of transport. You can stop where and when you like and enjoy the beautiful places and views.
P3. I prefer to travel by car as well, because it is very comfortable. First of all, we don't take tickets. We put everything we need in the car. Also, we can stop wherever we wish and spend as much time as we wish at any place.
P4. I usually travel by air as it is the fastest means of travelling.
3. Do you travel alone, with family or friends or in an organized group?
P1. Well, I think that travelling alone is boring but some people like it. Basically, I travel with my family. We always have fun. During the trip we have an opportunity to discuss the latest news, tell interesting stories, sing songs. We take funny photos that are stored in our albums.
P2. As for me, I travel with my family. Sometimes my parents’ friends or relatives join us. It’s fun to have a rest in a big company.
P3. As a rule, I travel with my parents because spending time together we have a chance to get to know each other better. Usually, first we go on various excursions, visit different museums and then we rest, sunbathe on the beach and walk in the evening. We talk about everything and joke. During the trip, we take a lot of photos. These photos help us to remember happy moments.
4. Do you stay in your home country or go abroad while travelling?
P1. I am a real patriot of my motherland, so I like to stay in my home country while travelling. Our country is rich in monuments, fascinating parks, nature reserves and other interesting places that are worth visiting.
P2. As for me, I like to travel about my home country as it helps me to learn and better understand the history of Russia. Most of all I like mountains with beautiful views and clean fresh air. It’s a good chance to relax.
P3. As for me, I love to travel around my country. The nature is very unique. Unity with nature brings balance and energy. My country is rich in various reserves, museums and parks. I get a lot of new and interesting impressions.
P4. Basically I travel abroad. There is a lot to see and do. In fact, sea and mountain resorts are much better than Russian ones.
5. So, what are you interested in when you are travelling?
P1. Everyone has his or her own hobbies and interests. As for me, I enjoy choreography. Therefore, it is a great pleasure for me to visit concerts of famous choreographic ensembles. On the show I can gain experience and learn something new about different styles of dancing.
P2. As for me, I prefer to visit museums while travelling as I can learn the history and culture of the country. Also, I like to attend the art galleries where I can spend hours enjoying the art of different countries and epochs.
P3. While travelling, I’m interested in national dishes as Russia is a multicultural country. I also like to visit national parks and museums to learn customs and traditions of different nations and nationalities living in Russia.
6. What place would you like to visit?
P1. As for me, I want to visit the island of Valaam in Saint Petersburg. It is situated in the northern part of Lake Ladoga, the largest lake in Europe. I want to see the monastery, which was destroyed many times, but was always rebuilt. Also, the nature on the island is unique. There are a lot of different kinds of plants.
P2. As for me, I would like to see Kamchatka Peninsula with its unique wildlife, volcanoes, nature monuments and culture.
P3. I would like to visit Spain and participate in a real bullfight. I think it would be both the most terrible and memorable moment.
Now let’s sum up. Why do you people like travelling?
P1. As for me, travelling means good moments and unforgettable impressions and emotions because on holiday we have an opportunity to rest, tо see beautiful places and not to think about any problems. That’s why I’m looking forward to my summer holidays every day.
P2. Taking into consideration all mentioned above, travelling means: to relax, to broaden the mind, new friends, a great impression and much more. That’s why travelling is the most popular pastime among people.
P3. The most important benefit of travelling is that it is very much an educational experience. It opens our eyes to not only a wide variety of different places but to a variety of different cultures. It allows us to see the way in which other ethnic groups live.
P4. Travelling can be a fantastic way to refresh both our bodies and our spirits. It gives us a chance to escape the daily routine. Also travelling is a great source of inspiration.
