1st Reader: Soon the wolf came up to the house. He knocked at the door and said, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.”

The little pig answered, “No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin.”

“Then I’ll hulf and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in.”

So he huffed and he puffed, and he puffed and he huffed, but he could not blow the house down because it was made of briks.

(The Three Little Pigs).

2nd Reader: “This grain of wheat should be planted, “ she said.

“Who will plant this grain of wheat?”

“Not I”, said the Duck.

“Not I”, said the Cat.

“Not I” said the dog.

“Then I will,” said the Little Red Hen and she did

(The Little Red Hen and the Grain of Wheat).

3rd Reader: Her mother put the things in a basket. “Don’t run”, she said, “Or you may fall down with your basket.

But don’t go too slowly or you will be too late. Just go quickly and carefully.

And don’t talk to any strangers you may meet”.

“I will do just as you tell me, Mother,” said the little girl and she put on her red cloak and left the house.
