Good afternoon, my dear friends! How are you? Let me introduce myself. My name is…. I ask you to be active and feel comfortable at the lesson. To begin with, I’d like to say that my favourite activity in my free time is going to the theatre because I find it relaxing and enjoyable. And what about you? What do you like doing in your free time?

First of all, let’s see how well you know the types of arts. There are several of them. Can you name them in order to complete a spidergram?

So, you see the word MUSIC. And our topic is “Music in our hearts”. Today we are going to discuss the questions: “How does music help people? What role does music play in your life?”

As you know, this year in Russia is declared “The Year of Culture”.

On the board you can see famous peoples’ words of wisdom about music:

“Music is the universal language of the world.” ( Henry Longfellow)

Do you agree with this statement? Why?

Today we have 3 groups: “Rappers”, here is a cap for you; “Pop musicians, here is the guitar, “Folk musicians”, here is the khomus for you.

Stand up, please. We’ll do exercises and revise irregular verbs. Put you hands on hips, on shoulders and up if verbs 3-4 different forms. If verbs have the same forms your hands remain on hips. Look at me. Repeat after me.

Предварительное задание. Children, you know there are a lot of famous musicians in the world. Now your task is – to read and put the parts of the text in the right order. Then we’ll see who the person is. (“HIDDEN PICTURE”)

and fill in the gaps in the lyrics.

What do you feel about the song?

The song “What a Wonderful World” reveals Louis Armstrong’s personal philosophy of life. He believed that good can be found everywhere, that the world is full of beauty, that simplicity is satisfying, and that a person finds happiness within.  We can only make it more beautiful by LOVING each other! Let`s take care of our world.
