Цель урока: формирование коммуникативных навыков, активизация лексики по теме “Окружающий мир” с помощью мультимедийных технологий.

Задачи урока.

Образовательные:

повторение и закрепление лексики по теме;

развитие умений строить монологическое высказывание, развитие диалогических навыков, навыков аудирования, говорения, умения читать с детальным пониманием содержания.

Развивающие: развитие памяти, мышления, воображения, творческого потенциала учащихся.

Воспитательные: развитие независимости, самостоятельности мышления, умения сотрудничать.

Оснащение урока: проектор, компьютер, постеры, фотоматериалы.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент. Сообщение темы и целей урока.

Good morning, girls and boys. Good morning our guests. Pleased to meet you.

What is the weather like today?

What season is it now?

Do you think such weather is usual for autumn?

But scientists say that the weather and the climate of our planet, in general, changes from year to year. Why is it happening? What can we do to save our planet?

These questions are very difficult but today we’ll try to answer these questions.

Well, the title of today’s lesson is “The Earth is our home”. I hope you’ll take an active part in the lesson.

2. Речевая разминка.

I want to start our talk with the words of the great English writer R. L. Stevenson.

Look at the blackboard and read them:

“The world is so full of a number of things,

I’m sure we should all be as happy as kings.”

How do you understand these words? What can you see around?

3. Исполнение песни.

Let’s sing a song about the Earth. It is called “All around the world”. (Приложение 1. Приложение 2).

It’s a wonderful world we live in, isn’t it?

Well, there is a place on the Earth, perhaps more interesting and useful for us than the others; it can be called the “lungs of our planet”.

These are rainforests.

4. Развитие навыков чтения.

T: What is a rainforest?

P: It’s a tropical forest with tall trees that are very close together and growing in the area where it rains a lot.

T: Where are the rainforests? How can you depict them?

P: There are big rainforests in Brazil, Columbia (South America), Africa, Indonesia, South East Asia.

T: We can find the information about rainforests in magazines. You have a part of the magazine article. Let’s read it and work out why the rainforests are important. (Приложение 3).

  • How many animals live in rainforests?
  • What types of animals live there?
  • Why are the rainforests so important?

Imagine that you are walking in a rainforest. It’s hot and dark. You can hear a lot of noises. The ground is very wet. You know that there are a lot of wild animals near you.

What can you see? What can you hear? How do you feel?

5. Тренировка монологической речи.

We’ve read that in many places the rainforests are in danger. And you know that in many other areas of the Earth the situation is the same. People think that there are so many animals, plants mineral that will never end. But our planet, its climate, the environment are changing all the time.

Why does the climate change?

What do you know about the greenhouse effect? How does it influence the climate?

What are the other changes on the planet? [1].

Well, imagine that you are asked to take part in the TV show called “Save our planet”.

Your task is to speak about environmental problems. [1].

Let’s start with definition: What does the word environment mean?

  • What are the most serious environmental problems?
  • What makes sea water dangerous nowadays;
  • What can you say about river pollution?

6. Развитие лексико-грамматических навыков.

The work on the blackboard:

1. Match the words and their definitions:

1) to pollute – to make the water, air, atmosphere dirty and dangerous for people and animals to live in or to use;

2) weapon – it is used to kill or hurt people in a fight or a war;

3) safe – not dangerous;

4) environment – the air, water, and land on Earth, which can be harmed by man’s activity;

5) population – the number of people living in a particular area;

6) dump – a place where unwanted waste is taken and left;

7) poison – a thing that can cause death or serious illness if you eat or drink it.

2. Put the verbs into the correct form:

1. If we (not cut) forests, the air (be) clean and fresh.

2. If we (not pollute) our forests and lakes, they (be) full of fish.

3. If we (plant) more new forests, we (save) wild animals.

4. If we (take) care of our planet, we (not have) so many environmental problems.

5. If people (not pollute) the planet, many species of animals (not disappear).

6. If people (dream) more about space flight, they (find) another planet to live on.

7. Проверка домашнего задания.

T: What should we do to protect the environment?

Your home task was to make your own code of behaviour in the countryside.

Present your work, please. (Приложение 4).

8. Тренировка навыков аудирования.

Pretend that you are at the Women’s Club meeting.

Listen to the report from this meeting.

Your task is to hear the main ecological problems in gentleman’s talk.

Then you should list negative and positive effects that cars have.

Answer the question:

Why did the member of the club want to stop the car producer?

9. Подведение итогов урока.

Teacher: Well, our lesson is coming to the end. It was devoted to our planet, its beauties, and the protection of the environment. You’ve answered very important questions, learned much new information.

We’ve understood that everything is closely connected in Nature – plants, animals, soil, and minerals.

There is a balance in Nature. We’ve proved that our planet is fragile; it needs our care.

Thank you for your work. It was very interesting to listen to your points of view. The lesson is over.
