Ход занятия

Presenter 1: Today we are here to celebrate the remarkable day- the 22-nd of APRIL, THE Earth day.

Presenter 2: We are going to praise the Earth – our home, our Mother Land – a cradle of all living things on the earth.

Presenter 1:

People everywhere
Breathe the same air,
Share the same seas,
Live together on the land.
People everywhere
Who learn, plan
Work, care
We can save the Earth.

Presnter 2: The Earth gave a birth to beautiful nature with its green forests, to blue waters of oceans, lakes and rivers, blue sky with white clouds, to great fields with colorful flowers, to all living creatures: animals, birds, fish, insects and humans.

Presester 1:We share one and the same planet all together. Our planet is so wonderful, gorgeous, splendid, and magnificent but at the same time is so fragile and helpless. The Earth is the only alive planet in the universe, an alone traveler, which faces with dangerous comets on her way in space. We must value and enjoy the everyday of life on it.

(The Earth appears)

The EARTH: Yes, you are right. People! I have come here to warn you: take care of all things around you. Remember:

God made awonderful planet.
God made all creatures live on it.
God says, "Please
Take care of these!"
Everything on the world is worth living.
Let me remind you about myself. (The earth tells about herself)

The Earth. My name is the Earth. My other names are the World, The Blue Planet. I am 4,600 million years old. I weigh 597 thousand million, million, million tons.

I am the fifth of the nine main planets in the solar system.

I am the third planet from the Sun.

I look blue from space because 70%, nearly three quarters, is covered with water. There are 4 oceans: the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian and the Arctic and there are a lot of rivers and lakes.

I look green from the space because 30 % of my surface is covered with forests.

And I am often white with clouds.

I like making happy people, animals and plants.

(After her story the children in the costumes of different wild animals and plants come and complain on their life)

Volga. Yesterday I enjoyed the life, I was proud of my famous vastness , my small affluents, my pure water that gave heroic power to Russian people, gave people the inspiration to write songs and poems . I was full of fish. And now I am dying slowly, because people do not take care of me.

Now I am speaking on behalf of my brothers and sisters: seas and oceans. We are in danger. We are filled with poison. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas, oceans and rivers.

Siberian or Amur Tiger. I inhabit forests of Western and Central Asia and eastern Russia. Siberian Tigers are found mostly in cold land, covered with snow for most of the year. Over the last hundred years, hunting and forest destruction have reduced tiger populations. Now I am speaking on behalf of my brothers and sisters animals. Every day a big number of animals dissapeares. People kill animals for different aims: e.g. people hunt whales for their meat and oil, elephants for their tusks, crocodiles for their leather and so on. And also animals are used for medical experiments. Modern life is bad for animals. They don’t have good meal and facilities for the life. You can find their names in the Red Book.

Fish. I am a fish and now I am speaking on behalf of my brothers fish. We need clean water to live in. There is no ocean or sea, which is not used as a dump. Many rivers and lakes are poisoned too. Fish and reptiles can’t live in them. There is not enough oxygen in the water. In such places all the birds leave their habitats and many plants die. It happens so because factories produce a lot of waste and pour it into rivers. So they poison water.

Oak. I am an oak and now I am speaking on behalf of my brothers trees. Many years ago 70% of the Earth was covered with forests. Now only 30%. All over the world the forests are disappearing. People cut the trees down because they need wood and paper or new places for farms and houses.

Trees are living things too. Trees have to breathe to live. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. We breathe out carbon dioxide and breathe in oxygen. Without trees, we're not here. Cutting down trees takes away that oxygen. If you cut down a tree but plant two new ones that is fine but it takes many years for them to grow. When we cut down trees, we are taking a home away from animals.

Bird. Yes, you are right. I am a macaw. I am a large bird, I measure between 70 cm and 80 cm from head to tail.

I am red, blue and yellow. I eat fruit, seeds and nuts. I am threatened by destruction of my habit and by hunters.

Presenter 1: Now the flowers tell their sad story in a dance.

(A scene with flowers)

Flowers. We are flowers. I am a bluebell. I am blue as the sky, and my dress is like a bell. I like the sun. People will see me in the grass. I make the fields beautiful.

I am a snowdrop. I am the first flower in spring. I am a nice little flower in a white dress. I have no smell. People see me on the places where the snow becomes water in the sun.

I am a violet. I am a spring flower too. My dress is violet. I am very nice as you see. I come a little later when there is no snow in the fields, the days are longer and it is warmer.

We are beautiful. People love us but they do not take care of us. We can not be happy and make people happy because they make dirty us with their feet, they pull up us with our roots and throw then.

People, hear us and do all the best to save us. We will be very thankful to you and be a pleasure to your eyes.

(The group of girls perform the dance of flowers)

The earth: People of the EARTH! You must stop all these killings and destructions. You must be careful, loving and responsible. Take care of nature! Love your lesser brothers!

Presenter 2: Let’s imagine what the ideal world to live would be your home if you loved and respected everything on the Earth.

(The song “Imagine”- performed by the girls of the 8-th form)

Presenter 1:We can do many things and we must love our mother nature and live in harmony with it.

(The students of the 6-th form recite the poems on the care of the Earth.)

Pupil1:

If you listen to the songbirds
As they greet the summer sun
And love the way the wind can make
The trees sing just for fun,

Pupil2:

If you like to hear the ocean
As it drums upon the shore
And imagine all the whales out there
And hope they’ll sing some more;

Pupil 3:

If you think of all the animals
As the players in the band,
Each with a lovely tune to play,
All needed on the land;

Pupil 4:

And know that as a boy or a girl
A woman or a man
You have a vital role to play
In Mother Nature’s plan.

Pupil 5:

If you honor every living thing
As a part of nature’s treasure
You’re in tune with Mother Nature
So let’s all sing her song together.

Pupil 6.

Walking along feeling free
Feeling the earth here with me
And I love her, she loves me.
I hug the earth, the Earth hugs me.
She’s our friend,
We’d like to be forever.
The Earth is a garden.
It’s a beautiful place.
For all living creatures,
For all the human race.
Helping Mother Earth
We can peacefully roam.
We all deserve a place
We can call our home.

(Video presentation is shown while the presenters are telling about the destruction on the earth.)

Presenter 2:Now look what has happened with our nature as a result of human activity: the poisoning of the world's land, air, and water is the fastest-spreading. It is potentially one of history's greatest dangers to human life on earth..

Presenter 1:Overpopulation, pollution and energy consumption have created such planet-wide problems as massive deforestation, ozone depletion, acid rains and the global warming that is believed to be caused by the greenhouse effect

Presenter 2 :The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.

Presenter 1:Every ten minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever. If nothing is done about it, one million species that are alive today will have become extinct twenty years from now.

Presenter 2: Air population is a very serious problem. These emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet. They are the main reason for the greenhouse effect and acid rains. An even greater environmental threat is nuclear power stations. We all know how tragic the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are.

Presenter 1: Another one is water shortage. It comes from abuse of lands in agriculture.

Presenter 2:Just imagine what would be our planet in 100 year-time if we do nothing….

(a scene on water – the pupils of the 5-th form perform)

After the world global environmental catastrophe the supply of fresh water decreased that s why each inhabitant received a special magnetic card and he can get his daily requirement – 200 ml of water.

(На сцене – пункт раздачи воды. На пункте – раздатчик и два офицера полиции (юноша и девушка). Очередь доходит до мамы и сына. Мать протягивает полицейскому две карточки. Полицейский проверяет карточки.)

The youth-police: 400 milliliters.

(Раздатчик отмеряет воду в емкость женщины. Они с мальчиком отходят от пункта раздачи, женщина поскальзывается, падает и разливает воду. Мальчик помогает ейп одняться.)

Son: Mum, are you all right?

Mother: It's not important, but I poured all of our water. What to do now? How can we live without water today?

Son: Let's ask to give us some water more , everybody saw that you had fallen accidentally.

(Они снова подходят к пункту раздачи воды.)

Mother (to police): Sir, can we get the water again, I fell and poured all the water.

The youth-police: I saw, madam, but I cannot help. You have already received your water ration for today. Sorry.

(Женщина садиться у края сцены и плачет.)

(The Video presentation is demonstrated again)

Presenter 1: The world wouldn’t be so disastrous if we learned to be environmentally conscious, true nature lovers and be wise to remember reuse, recycle, reduce.

Presenter 2: Reuse – things that you can use twice or more times: for example, packets or glass bottles; avoid buying packed food.

Presenter 1: Reduce – use less energy, don’t switch on many electronic devices, and switch off the light when you leave the room.

Be wise to use water, don’t waste it in vain.

Presenter 2: Recycle – our land is not a great dump to store our garbage, we must recycle the things that can be recycled. There must be more the recycling centers in our towns.

So, the common people should change their attitude towards the environment. We should realize that natural resources are not unlimited and destroying them may result in destroying life on Earth.

Presenter 1: The students of our school take part in different actions to save the planet. They plant trees, take part in cleanup days in the parks, collect waste paper, participate in all world actions as ”Save the Tree”, “ Save Energy Day”.

Presenter 2: We can do not much but united with other people we can do many things.

(TheEarthcomes)

I am the Earth
And the Earth is me
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone,
And blood and muscle,
Skin and bone
And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that you grow here
Naturally.
That s why we
Celebrate this day
That s why across
The world we say:
As long as life
As deer as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.

Presenter 1: Dearfriends! Let us join our efforts to save the life on the planet!

The final part:

(the students all together sing the song”Kids for saving Promise Song”).

The Earth is my home.
I promise to keep it healthy and beautiful.
I will love the land, the air, the water and all living creatures.
I will be a defender of my planet,
United with friends,
I will save the Earth.
United with friends, I promise to keep it,
United with friends,I will love the land,
United with friends, I’ll be a defender,
I will save the Earth.
