"Writing letters to friends"

Цель: активизировать употребление лексики и грамматики по теме “Пишем письма друзьям”.

1. учебные: практиковать учащихся в построении предложений, как на письме, так и в устной речи, практиковать учащихся в понимании на слух.
2. воспитательные: привлечь внимание учащихся к культуре написания письма, развивать навыки работы в парах и группах.
3. развивающие: развивать память, языковую догадку, мышление.

Оборудование: тематические картинки, учебник “Enjoy English-3”, карточки со словосочетаниями, чистые листы, импровизированный почтовый ящик, конверты.

Ход урока

Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls. I am very glad to see you. Let’s begin our lesson. Today I would like to speak to you about letters. There are many countries in the world. These countries have their own languages. But there is a language which is used in our world for communication between the people from the different countries. And Russian people study it too. It’s the English language.

I think you have many friends. But it’s interesting to have foreign friends too. And the English language will help you to speak to them, to write them your letters and to read their letters too.

Teacher: Do you know all the English letters and sounds? It’s important to use them correctly. Let’s check. Please, match these words and these sounds.

 На доске написаны слова и звуки:

Ребята по очереди выходят к доске и соединяют слова и звуки.

Teacher: What words are connected with our topic? Can you remember them?

Вниманию ребят представлены следующие картинки: почта, письмо, открытка, бумага, марка, ручка, карандаш, конверт, почтовый ящик, почтальон, плакат, лист с адресом. Выходя к доске, ребята называют эти предметы по-английски.

Teacher: Now these words would like to find their friends. Help them. Open your exercise books and write word combinations.

На доске написаны слова: long, short, nice, good, kind, thick, thin, big, clean, healthy. Ребята в своих тетрадях составляют словосочетания. Затем работают парами.

Teacher: Please, Sasha and Sveta read your combinations.

После того как ответила одна пара, продолжает работать другая пара.

Teacher: You know Miss Chatter. She is our old English friend. She likes to get and write the letters too. She has sent us her cards. You have to choose one of the card and make up the sentence. Use The Present Simple Tense.

Ребята составляют предложения из данных словосочетаний. Задача учеников не забыть про подлежащее и добавить s или es к глаголу. На доске может быть схема, изображающая настоящее простое время.

1. Miss Chatter gets a letter.
2. Miss Chatter reads the letter.
3. Miss Chatter writes a letter.
4. She writes an address on the envelope.
5. She posts the letter.
6. She sends a letter.

Teacher: Who usually brings the letters?

Pupils: A postman.

Yes, you are right. And the English girl Marry likes to get letters too.

Let’s listen to the poem “Every morning at eight o’clock”.

Один из учеников рассказывает стихотворение.

Pupil 1:

Every morning at eight o’clock
You can hear the postman knock.
Up jumps Mary to open the door.
One letter, two letters, three letters, four.

Teacher: And this poem is about the letters.

Pupil 2:

Letters, letters,
Every day letters
A letter for Daddy
A letter for Mummy
A letter for Nelly
And a letter for me,
But no letters at all
For our little Paul.

Во время выступления можно использовать несколько конвертов с письмами и при перечислении героев стихотворения показывать данные конверты с шуточными надписями на них: for Daddy, for Mummy, for Nelly, for me.

Teacher:

We have our relatives and friends. Some of them live far from us. But we want to know more about them. We wait the letters from our relatives who are far from us. And we wait the postmen, who bring these letters. Let’s read the next dialogue and translate it.

Pupil 1: Good morning, Mr. Postman.
Is there anything for me?

Pupil 2: Yes, my dear, there is today
A lovely card, said he.

Pupil 1: A lovely card, said Mary Ann
I wonder who it’s from?

Pupil 2: Have a look at once, my dear
It says, “From uncle Tom.”

Pupil 1: But uncle Tom’s a-sailing
A-sailing on the sea
Fancy him remembering
To send a card for me.

Другая пара ребят переводит данный диалог.

Teacher: Thank you very much. Now let’s have a rest. Please, stand up.

Teacher: Well, now let's play the game “Understand me and do what I say”

Masha and Ira, come here.
Can Ira understand Masha?

1. Take clean paper and a pen.
2. Sit down and write a letter
3. Put a stamp on the envelope.
4. Write an address on the envelope.
5. Take your letter and go to the post office.
6. Find a letter-box and post the letter.

Затем выходит еще пара и игра продолжается.

Teacher: When we write a letter to our foreign friends or Russian friends we ask many questions. What words will help us?

Pupils: who, what, where, why, when, which, how.

Teacher: What questions can you ask to your pen friend?

Pupils:

What do you like?     Why do you like to get letters?

Where do you live?    Do you have any pets?

Teacher: Well, we know how to write a letter, we know how to send a letter. But do you know how to write an address on the envelope?

Учитель достает большой конверт и еще раз напоминает ребятам, как написать адрес на конверте, который будет отправлен в другую страну.

Перед ребятами лежат конверты. Они пишут на них адрес, затем по очереди встают и опускают свой конверт в почтовый ящик, приготовленный специально для урока.
