  5. Расширение кругозора обучающихся.

Ход урока

I. Сообщение учителем темы урока.

– об-ся сами называют цели урока, учитель дополняет.

II. Фонетическая зарядка.

(об-ся слушают запись и повторяют за диктором слова и выражения к тексту «Royal London»)

V. “Excursion about London.

(рассказ учителя о королевских местах в Лондоне).

This is the flag of Great Britain. The British people call it “the Union Jack” it is red, white and blue. The flag is made up of three crosses: the cross of St. George, the cross of St. Andrew and the cross of St. Patrick.

The today’s coat of arms was made by Richard the Lion Heart at the end of the 10 century. On the red field one can see three gold leopards (lions) and royal gold lilies. The lion means might and strength of the country.

Westminster Palace was the capital residence till 1529. Now the meetings of the British Parliament are held here. The palace has 1200 rooms, 100 stairs and 5 km of halls.

Kensington Palace is well known all over the world as London residence of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. After their divorce Diana lived there till her death? Then this palace became Diana’s museum. On the ground floor you can see the collection of the royal clothes since 1750 till nowadays. On the next floor there are a lot of royal rooms, royal picture gallery and other different things.

Windsor Castle is one of the largest and the most ancient castles in the world. It is the official residence of the queen. The castle is more than 900 years old. It has a lot of wonderful paintings of the royal collection. You can see here the paintings of Rembrandt, Rubens, Ganesboro, Van Dake. The groves of Henry VIII, Karl I and other 8 monarchs are situated here.

The Tower of London was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King’s Zoo. Now it is the museum. You can see a lot of interesting things in the halls of the White Tower. Its square walls are white and very tall.

Saint James Park and Green Park are the green stripe around Buckingham Palace. It is a large park with huge trees and … Around this park relief of royal guards takes place. Green Park is similar to Saint James Park only without any pond.

VIII. Рефлексия.

Учитель называет слово Royal

  • обучающиеся называют существительные, подходящие к слову: family, places, Queen, King, palaces, parks, ceremony, monarch, procession, avenue, residence;
  • теперь обучающиеся называют словосочетания по теме: a powerful king, a beautiful ceremony, a famous queen, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, a very important monarch, a wide avenue; the official residence;
  • обучающиеся называют сочетания: глагол и словосочетания: to held a beautiful ceremony, to live in the official residence, to use a wide avenue, to be a powerful queen, to remember a very important monarch, to name a famous queen.
