Цели: 

• формирование у учащихся семейных ценностей;
• активизация речемыслительной деятельности;
• развитие всех видов РД.

Задачи:

Обучающие:

• ввести новую и активизировать ранее изученную лексику по теме «Семья»;
• формировать грамматические навыки на материале Possessive Case;
• организовать аудирование и чтение с извлечением специфической информации;
• организовать монологическую и диалогическую речь (запрос/сообщение о родственниках);
• формировать и развивать коммуникативные навыки.

Развивающие:

• развивать мышление и умение общаться на иностранном языке;
• развивать умение построения высказывания по образцу;

Воспитательные:

• воспитывать чувство любви и уважения к близким людям;
• формировать умение работать в паре.

Образовательные:

• формировать стратегии расширения словарного запаса.

Оснащение урока: учебник New Millennium English 5, рабочая тетрадь, тематические картинки, опорные карточки-образцы, карточки «Найди пару», доска.

Ход урока

I. Орг. момент:

1. Приветствие.

Good morning! I’m glad to see you! Take your seats, please. How are you today?

2. Речевая зарядка.

What is the date today? What is the day today? Have you got any pets? What are they?

3. Фонетическая зарядка.

And now we are going to revise English sounds [Ө] and [ð]. Look at the blackboard, read and repeat after me: [Ө], [ð], Smith, father, mother, brother, with, another.

Mr. Smith has got a son.
Mrs. Abb has got a daughter.
Father, mother, sister, brother
Hand in hand with one another.

Now let’s read all together. Thank you, my dear.

II. Основная часть.

Well our today’s topic is “My Family”. We will speak about our families. Have  you got a family? How many brothers or sisters have got? The title of the lesson is “Family Album”.

Whose photos do we usually put in a family album?

P1: mum

P2: dad

Teacher: Mother and father are parents.    

P3: granny

P4: grandpa

Teacher: Grandmother and grandfather are grandparents.

Read the words all together and tell me how we call all these people. Yes, they are relatives. Now open your exercise books and write down these words.

The next thing we are going to do is to listen to the dialogue between Dima and Jane about one of Dima’s relatives. Open your student’s books at p. 36, find Ex. 1a and read the questions you should answer. (Читают, слушают, отвечают на вопросы).

Well, Katya is Dima’s younger sister. What does the word younger mean?

What does the word elder mean?

That’s right. Write the words in your exercise books and translate them.

Now we will play “Guessing Game”. Write 3 names of your relatives. Work in pairs and your partner will try to guess whose these names are. Look at the example and read it:

A: Is Olga your mum?

B: No, she isn’t.

A: Is she your sister?

B: Yes, she is my younger sister.

You see sometimes people make special websites about their families. Let’s visit Aigul’s family site. Look at Ex. 2 p. 37. Read and match the pictures with the paragraphs.

What do the words in bold mean: husband, wife, married, niece, grandparents, grandmother, grandfather, father’s parents, mother’s sister. Guess from the context. (Читают слова и переводят)

In the text we meet such word combinations as father’s parents and  mother’s sister. They deal with Possessive Case. Now I’ll speak Russian a bit to be sure you understand this grammar material.

‘s – показатель принадлежности присоединяется к существительному, полученная форма отвечает на вопрос Чей? (Aigul’s father – папа Айгуль). Чтобы сказать чье это имя или чей предмет, прибавь ‘s (elder brother’s name – имя старшего брата).’s читается по-разному: [s] и [z], [z] после звонких согласных и гласных: mum’s phone [z];

grandma’s house [z];

cat’s food.

Now answer the questions about Aigul’s family:

• Who is Lena?
• What’s her husband’s name?
• What is Aigul’s elder brother’s name?
• Who is her brother’s wife?
• What does Aigul’s mother like doing in the evening?
• What is Aigul’s father good at?
• Where do her grandparents live?
• Who likes Aigul playing football with?

Now look at p. 38-39. This is Aigul’s family tree. It is not finished, read it and fill in the gaps. Work in pairs.

• your sister’s son is your …nephew
