AIMS:

- To revise vocabulary on topic “Animals”;

- To revise the using of modal verbs “must” and “can”;

- To revise Future Simple and Past Simple;

EQUIPMENT:

- tape recorder, cards with crosswords, cards with the words to compose questions, children’s costumes of animals

1. Presentation of the teams.

“A happy zoo”. Presented poems and songs about animals.

“Funny Animals”. Presented poem.

“A house in the wood”. Presented a fairy- tail.

2. Guess the animal.

Children have to answer the question

- what animal is it?

Сards:

  1. It is a bird. It can swim but it cannot fly or climb trees. What is it? (a duck).
  2. It has not got legs. It can swim well. Cats eat it. What is it? (a fish)
  3. It has got long ears, a small tail. It can run well. It likes salad. What is it? (a rabbit or a hare)
  4. It is big and grey . it has got four legs and a trunk. It eats grass ond fruit. What is it? (an elephant)
  5. It is a very tall animal. It has got long legs and eat leaves. It is yellow and black. What is it? (a giraffe)
  6. It is a big cat. It is red and brown. It can climb trees and it eats meat. What is it? (a tiger)

3. Complete the sentence.

Cards are given to the pupils. There are words on the cards. Pupils have to make questions from these cards. They have to put cards in the right order.

- What did your mother buy for dinner yesterday?

- How many apples will you buy tomorrow?

- What colour jeans will you wear tomorrow?

4. Capitan’s competitions.

Task:

- What can animals do?

- How must people take care of animals?

Capitans have to compose as many sentences as possiblewith verbs can and must. Members of teams can help them.

5. Crossword. Teams have to guess the names of ten animals.

6. Results. The jury chooses the best team.
