Цель урока: освоение новых знаний по теме British Cinema на основе видеофрагмента.
Задачи:
- научить аудированию текста на основе видеороликов;
- научить извлекать нужную информацию из просмотренного и на основе этого составлять диалог;
- развивать навыки “jigsaw reading”;
- научить диалогической речи, озвучиванию видеофрагментов из художественного фильма “Harry Potter”.
Оснащение: презентация, видеофрагменты из фильма “Harry Potter”, видеоролики (трейлеры фильмов), аудиодиск к учебнику “Matrix 8”, проектор, экран, 10 компьютеров.
Ход урока
Teacher: | Good morning! I’m glad to see you. How are you? Take your seats. Today we have guests at our lesson with a brain storm. Think over and say what associations you have with the topic “Cinema”. (Слайд 2) |

with mine. I think it will be the plan of our lesson. First let’s speak about you.

Teacher: | Now, let us have a look at the history of British cinema.
There are five paragraphs in this text. Let’s divide our class into 5 groups. You may look at the pictures, make notes and listen to your paragraph. Open your books at page 24. Find your paragraph. You have two minutes to read your paragraph. Close your books and tell your classmates everything you remember. (Слайд 5) |

Teacher: | Your homework was to prepare a short story about the film you like. I have chosen three of you. Let’s listen to your stories and decide which film would you like to see. |
Pupil 1: | (Слайд 9). A film like is ‘Real Steel’, starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goyo, Kevin Duran and Antony Makie. It was directed by Shon Levi. It is set in the USA. The main characters are Charlie Kiton, his son Max and a robot Atom. "Real Steel" is an action drama about a former boxer (Hugh Jackman) who, against all odds, gets one last shot at a comeback when he teams up with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) to build and train the perfect contender for the new high-tech sport of robot boxing. I love this film because it has an interesting plot and original special effects. It also has many amazing shots and has good music. The film keeps me intensive all the time I watching and makes more impression on me. I advise you to watch this film. I am sure, you will like it! |
Pupil 2: | (Слайд 10). A film I like is “Hachiko”, starring Richard Gere and Joan Allen. It was directed by Lasse Hallstrom. It is set in the USA. The main characters are Professor Parker (Richard Gere) and his dog. “Hachiko” is a drama about a dog named Hachiko which sees his master Professor Parker off every morning and meets him back every evening at the railway station. Suddenly professor dies, but Hachiko continues to wait for him at the same place at the railway station within the following 9 years, hoping that his master will come back one day. This real touching story happened in the 20th of the 20 century. It’s an example of true friendship and faithfulness. It is impossible to stay indifferent while watching the film. I advise all of you to watch this film! |
Pupil 3: | (Слайд 11). A film I like is “Back to the Future” starring Michael Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson. It was directed by Robert Zemeikis and Bob Gale and produced by Steven Spielberg. The main characters are Marty McFly and Dr. Emmet Brown also known as “Doc”. Doc creates a special time machine to travel in time and, after that Marty travels from the future into the past. From 1988 into 1955. In the past Marty meets his parents when they are young and are not married. So, Marty McFly should make his parents fall in love with each other and get marry and then have a son. After completing his mission, Marty gets back to the future and he knows that his family is saved. I like the film because the plot of the film is very interesting and the dialogues are funny! |

Teacher: | It’s time to watch a film about Harry Potter. Have you
seen it in Russian? (Слайд 13) Firstly, we shall see it without sound. Try to guess what the characters are talking about. Now, let us watch and listen. You may take your seat before the computers, use the scripts of your episodes and train a bit. |
Pupils: | Сюжет 1. (Слайд 14) Son 1: Okay, come on. Okay, come on. Son 1: Think it'd be all right if we had some? Son 2: Yeah, Mum will never know. Ron: It's not much, but it's home. Harry: I think it's brilliant. Mum: Where have you been? Harry, how wonderful to see you, dear. Beds empty. No note. Car gone. You could have died. You could have been seen. Of course, I don't blame you, Harry, dear. Ron: They were starving him, Mum. There were bars on his window. Mum: Well, you best hope I don't put bars on your window, Ronald Weasley. Come on, Harry, time for a spot of breakfast. Mum: Here we are, Harry. Now, tuck in. That's it. There we go. Ginny: Mummy, have you seen my jumper? Mum: Yes, dear, it was on the cat. Harry: Hello. Harry: What did I do? Ron: Ginny. She's been talking about you all summer. A bit annoying, really. Сюжет №2 (Слайд 15) Ron: You're a Parse mouth? Why didn't you tell us? Harry: I'm a what? Germiona: You can talk to snakes. Harry: I know. I accidentally set a python on my cousin Dudley at the zoo once. Once. But so what? I bet loads of people here can do it. Germiona: No, they can't. It's not a very common gift, Harry. This is bad. Harry: What's bad? If I hadn't told that snake not to attack Justin... Ron: That's what you said to it. Harry: You were there. You heard me. Ron: I heard you speaking Parse tongue. Snake language. Harry: I spoke a different language? But I didn't realize... How can I speak a language without knowing I can? Germiona: I don't know how, but it sounded like you were egging the snake on or something. Harry, listen to me. There's a reason the symbol of Slytherin house is a serpent. Salazar Slytherin was a Parse mouth. He could talk to snakes too. Ron: Exactly. Now the whole school's gonna think you're his great-great-great grandson. Harry: But I'm not. I can't be. Germiona: He lived a thousand years ago. For all we know, you could be. Сюжет №3 (Слайд 16) Ron: Oh, no! The Invisibility Booster must be faulty. Harry: Come on, then. Let's go lower. We need to find the train. Ron: Okay. Harry: All we need to do is catch up with the train. Ron: We can't be far behind. Harry: Do you hear that? Ron: We must be getting close. Harry: Hold on. Ron: Harry! Hold on! Take my hand! Hold on! Harry: I'm trying. Your hand's all sweaty. I think we found the train. Ron: Yeah. |
