Оборудование: Географическая карта, мультимедийный проектор, компьютер, экран, магнитофон, презентация: Достопримечательности Лондона, части Великобритании, кроссворд, жетоны.

Цели урока:

  • Познавательный аспект – знакомство с географическим положением страны и её столицы
  • Развивающий аспект – развитие умения извлекать информацию о культуре страны из лекции, развитие умения понимать наглядные пособия, работать по карте.
  • Воспитательный аспект – воспитание уважительного отношения к культуре данной страны, более глубокое осознание культуры через символы страны.
  • Учебный аспект – формирование лексических навыков говорения.

Ход урока

I. The beginning of the lesson

Приветствие: Good morning, Good morning! Good morning to you! Good morning, dear children, I am glad to see you!

Речевая зарядка:

  • How are you today? What season is it now?
  • What is the weather like today?
  • Is it cold (frosty, snowy, foggy, windy, sunny)? Do you like the weather today?
  • Who is on duty today? Stand up, please.
  • Who is absent today?
  • What day is it today? What date is it today?

Цели и задачи урока:

Today we shall speak about the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and London’s most famous sights. You will work with crossword. You recognize about parts of the UK. Be attentive. You should remember all words and the names during the lesson. You will get marks at the end of the lesson.

We shall start our lesson with the English sounds. Давайте потренируем наши язычки перед нашей работой. Listen and repeat.

The UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Мы познакомились с Великобританией, узнали из каких частей она состоит, чем омывается, где расположена.

Let’s speak about Great Britain. Marat are you ready? Go to the blackboard and describe this country, using the map. Children, look at the blackboard and listen.

P1) Great Britain is situated on the British Isles. It comprises England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the north G.B. is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and in the east of Europe G.B. is washed by the North Sea.

  • Repeat all together, please: the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea.
  • Now listen about parts of the UK. You should be attentive because after that will be a crossword.

P2) Who wants us to tell about England?

England. The capital of England is London. Magic England has beautiful landscapes. England is a country of red roses.

P3) Who wants to tell about Wales?

Wales  The capital of Wales is Cardiff. There are many daffodils in the Wales Valleys.

P4) What do you know about Scotland?

Scotland. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. It is famous for bagpipers. Some men wear kilts. A thistle is the symbol of Scotland.

P5) Have you got some information about N.I.?

Northern Ireland. The capital of this country is Belfast. Ulster is an old name. The symbol is a shamrock and a red hand.

Repeat all together these parts.

Open your books at p. 66 ex. 17. repeat after me. Ok. Now ex. 18 p. 66 read and finish the sentences.

Look at blackboard you can see the pictures of some places in London you must describe them one by one.

  • P2 what can you say about Buckingham palace?
  • P3 tell us about Westminster Abbey.
  • P4 what do you know about The Houses of Parliament?
  • P5 what can you say about Trafalgar square?
  • P6 tell us about Tower Bridge.
  • P7 what do you know about Big Ben?

Today we shall have a competition “Who is quicker?”

1) Who is quicker? Кто знает, ответ поднимает руку.
Find the right capital of the countries. What is the capital of…?England , N. Ireland , Wales, Scotland

2) Using the map find, please: Where is situated England (Wales, N. Ireland, Gr. Britain, the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, London).

3) Answer my questions:

  • What is the name of the famous clock in London? ( it is Big Ben)
  • Where does Big Ben stand? (B. B . stands near the Houses of P.)
  • How often can you hear Big Ben? (you can hear B.B. every hour)
  • Where do the Houses of Parliament stand? ( they stand beside the river Thames)
  • What was built by King Edward in 1065? ( W. A. was built by King Edward in 1065)
  • Does the queen of Britain live in Tower? ( No, she doesn’t. She doesn’t live in the Tower)
  • Where does the Queen stay when she is in London? ( she stays in Buckingham Palace)
  • Where does the coronation of all British Kings and Queens take place? (the coronation takes place in W. A.)
  • What places in London do you like to visit? ( I like to visit…)

4) Crossword: You should find the answers on my questions:

5) Let's play the game “Agree or disagree”. Listen to my sentences you must repeat my statement if you agree with me and correct it if you disagree with me. Поиграем в игру «Согласись или не согласись». Я говорю предложения и вы должны сказать согласны вы или не согласны.

  • Trafalgar square is in London.( I agree with you)
  • Moscow is the capital of the U.K. (I disagree with you).
  • Moscow is different from London.( I agree with you).
  • There are a lot of places to visit in London.(I agree with you).
  • London is the biggest city of the UK.( I agree with you).

Обязательно написать название этой достопримечательности, свою фамилию и класс.
