Ход мероприятия

Teacher: Good afternoon, dear students! Today you'll see a mini-show which is devoted to the popular holiday «Halloween». Welcome to our Halloween Party!

Presenter 1. Good afternoon, dear students! Halloween is a festival that takes place on October 31. In the United States children wear costumes and masks and go trick-or-treating. Many of them carve jack-o'-lanterns out of pumpkins. Fortunetelling and storytelling about ghosts and witches are popular activities. Halloween colors are orange and black. During the early years of the Christian era people celebrated Halloween with games, bonfires, parties.

Presenter 2. The main Halloween activity for children is trick-or-treating. Children dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying "trick or treat". The neighbors give children such treats as candy, fruit and pennies so that children do not play tricks on them.

People once believed that there were many ghosts and witches on the Earth and that they met on October 31 to worship the devil. Today, people do not believe in ghosts and witches but they like to tell stories about them on Halloween.

Student 1.

After its lid is cut, the slick seeds and stuck
Wet strings scooped out walls scraped
Dry and white, face carved, candle fired and lit,
Light creeps into the trick rind: giving that dead orange vegetable skull
Warm skin, making a live head to hold its sharp gold grin.

(A poem Ghost by Jack Prelutsky)

Student 2.

I saw a ghost that stared and stared
And I stood still and acted scared but that was just a big pretend
I knew that ghost … it was my friend!
