Тема урока: “ Countries, cities, sights”.
Цель:актуализация страноведческого материала по темам «Великобритания», «США», «Россия», обучение аудированию с полным пониманием.
Задачи:
- Образовательная: актуализировать и систематизировать изученный ранее страноведческий материал по темам «Достопримечательности Великобритании, США и России», подробно изучить материал о Букингемском дворце, Измайловском Кремле и Библиотеке Конгресса средствами аудирования;
- Развивающая: развить умение аудирования, формировать умение работать в группе, совершенствовать умение монологической речи по теме, развить логическое мышление, память и внимание
- Воспитательная: привить культуру речевого общения, умение слушать своих собеседников, воспитать чувство толерантности и уважения к культуре других стран мира.
Тип урока: урок – обобщение с элементами введения нового материала
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент, приветствие
Let’s read the motto of our lesson “It’s better to see something once then to hear about it a hundred times”. Please, give a Russian proverb to these words. (“Лучше один раз увидеть, чем сто раз услышать”). Do you agree with the motto? We will try to do it today.
2. Объявление темы и цели урока
Can you guess what we are going to do today? You are absolutely right – travelling and visiting different places.Today we’re going to have a wonderful trip to such countries as Great Britain, the USA, Russia. You will remember the important facts about these countries, the main cities and places of interest, and you will have a chance to come inside some famous towers and buildings and to have a look at their wonderful collections of different things. Of course like all tourists you’ll have guides. Before we start our trip let’s see how well you know the history and geography of these three countries.
3. Актуализация страноведческого материала через развитие логического мышления и умения работать в группе.
You’re tourists and know a lot. Let your friends learn some important facts about Russia, Britain and America My little niece has cut these cards into 2 parts by mistake. Help me match the beginning and the end. Make sentences about your country; complete the table using the information from the sentences (Таблица №1).
Russia
Russia is situated in Eurasia. More than 132 million people live in Russia. The capital of the country is Moscow. Yury Dolgorukiy founded the city in 1147.
The main symbols of Russia are Red Square, the Kremlin and the birch tree.
Great Britain
Great Britain is situated in the British Isles. More than 61 million people live there. . The capital of the country is London. In 47 AD (Anno Domini-нашейэры) the Romans founded Londinium on the river Thames. The national symbols of Great Britain are the Queen, Big Ben and double-deckers.
The United States of America
The United States of America are situated in North America. The population of the USA is more than 309 million people. The capital is Washington. It was founded in 1790 and named after the first president. The national symbols of the country are the Statue of Liberty, The Stars and stripes, Uncle Sam.

4. Актуализация материала о достопримечательностях.
That was nice! Now you are ready to start our trip. Let us choose interesting cities and places you would like to visit. Let’s remember in what countries and cities you can see these wonderful things (задание на доске с иллюстрациями. Проверка осуществляется фронтально).

5. Развитие умения устной монологической речи и умения аудирования.
These pictures are really fantastic, aren’t they? I’m sure you would like to see all these things with your own eyes. Now you ‘ll have such a chance. The first city we ‘ll travel to is London. Choose any sight you like more (на доске представлен список из нескольких достопримечательностей Лондона, Вашингтона и Москвы) and we’re going to … Buckingham Palace! A good choice! Our guide will show you all the beautiful things inside and tell you a lot of interesting facts about them. When you listen make notes in the table. I hope you will be very attentive as all tourists are. Try to remember as much as you can and be ready to do the task after the tour. You know I asked some of your classmates to prepare excursions. Let’s welcome our first guide!
По очереди выходят трое учащихся и проводят экскурсию по одному из выбранных мест с использованием презентаций (см. Приложение №1).
Для фиксации услышанной информации группам раздаются опорные таблицы (см. Приложение №2).
5 a. Проверка понимания услышанного проверка осуществляется после каждого текста: групповая работа на карточках по нахождению верных и неверных предложений из текста экскурсий, затем фронтальная проверка с использованием доски. Now tourists I’d like to check how attentively you listened to your guides. Read the sentences and decide which is true and which is false. Finished? Group 1 gives the paper to Group 2, Group 2 gives the paper to group 3 and group 3 - to the first group. Now check them and correct. Let’s see which group has no mistakes! 6. Закрепление страноведческого материала: игра – соревнование «Кто быстрее найдет клад?»
Каждой команде дается карта Лондона с обозначенными на ней достопримечательностями. Нужно выполнить три задания, чтобы найти то место, где спрятан клад.
Now let’s play. You are in London. You are going to look for the treasure. You have a map (см. Рисунок 1). To find the place with the treasure you should do three tasks correctly. The team which finishes the first and find the right place will be the winner. Are you ready? Let’s start!
1) I will describe the sights of Russia, Britain and America. You should guess and choose the right variant. Then take the first letters of the words and make a new word. It will be the name of the famous place in London. I give you 2 more letters to help – O, E.
- People say it is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle there is a monument to Admiral Nelson and two fountains.

b) Hyde park - It’s one of the most beautiful places in the capital of the USA. It’s the place where the American President lives and works and it is not open to public.

3) Your last task is to complete the sentences with the words in the table. There are 5 sentences and six words. The word which you won’t use is the clue.

- The building in the centre of Moscow is (3).
- The members of the British Parliament work in (4).
- (5) was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King’s Zoo.
