Задачи: развитие навыков поискового чтения, развитие коммуникативных способностей, повторение правил речевого этикета.
Оборудование: Ксерокопии текстов, иллюстрации, карта Хакасии.

3. Проверка домашнего задания.
4. Объяснение основных целей и задач данного урока.
На уроке дети должны познакомиться с промышленностью и транспортом Хакасии. Школьникам предлагаются тексты для поискового чтения. Желательно, чтобы у каждого ученика был свой текст, но если школьников много, один текст даётся двум ученикам. Прочитав текст и найдя в нём ответы на вопросы, ученики должны рассказать о содержании своего текста товарищам. Основная цель урока: составление сводной таблицы с информацией о промышленности и транспорте Хакасии. Чтобы выполнить это задание, ученики должны поделиться информацией друг с другом. Они могут перемещаться по классу, но все разговоры должны вестись на английском языке.
Teacher: Dear, children. At this lesson we’ll learn information about industry and transport of Khakassia. One pupil read only one text, and answer the questions. After reading you must fill in the chart with information you have read about. You may ask questions to each other, because you must fill in the chart all information about this problem.
While discussion the problem you may use such question as:

2) Please, can you tell me something about …?
3) Do you have information about …?
4) What is your text about …?
5) Can you give me information about …?
6) What can you tell me about …?
7) What is the main theme of your text?
8) Is your text about …, isn’t it?
Don’t forget to use such words as “please”, “thank you very much”, “be so kind”, “not at all”, “thank you for your kindness”.
Now, pay attention to the chart. While reading the text you must answer the question in the chart.

There are two stone breaking industrial complexes operating in Sayanogorsk.
They are open joint-stock companies “Sayanmramor” and “MKK-Sayanmramor”.
The Sayan marble is of great demand all over the world. A huge one kilometer high marble cliff hovers over the Yenissei river. The channel of the Yenissei is paved with marble, too. The Sayan marble has 22 shades of colour. On the north side of the marble deposit marble is white and smoke-grey. One can cut hundreds, thousands of marble slabs but one will never find two pieces of the same colour. On the south side there are layers of pink marble: the shades vary from tender flesh colour to deep purple with the veins of light blue, black and golden. Experts say that it is music, not just stone.

The biggest molybdenum ore extracting and producing concentrated product is
the Sorsk mining complex with its annual output of 7 thousand tons or 85% of the
total Russian product of this kind.

Machinery construction also has good perspectives in Khakassia. The open
joint-stock company “Abakanvagonmash” produces universal and specialized
heavy-weight railing stock and metal constructions for electrolysis of aluminium
industry.

Open joint-stock company aluminium plant “OKSA” is a part of the “Russian
Aluminium” holding company. Within a short period of time this enterprise became
one of the leading enterprises in Russia and abroad in terms of the volume of
output, its economic and ecological data. Today the plant produces about 400
thousand tons of aluminium, 260 thousand tons of baked anode, different
aluminium annoy, electrode and other products.
The plant is attested as an enterprise of high technology and quality and it is awarded different Russian and international prizes. The “Aluminium Foil” company is one of the leading Russian producers of foil and packing materials.

Coal is mined in two mines and 5 collieries. The total output is 6 million
tons a year. The prospected deposits have (per cent of the RF total stock) 3% of
coal. Fuel industry is one of the leading industries in Khakassia. Its specific
gravity in total output is 4,9%. We live in Altayskii region and Izykhskii
