Задачей экзаменационной работы в 9 классе в разделе “Письмо” является написание письма личного характера. При выполнении данной работы на уроках учащиеся часто испытывают трудности в определении цели своей собственной творческой работы, а также в выборе лексических единиц.
Система упражнений урока направлена на снятие данных трудностей. Данный урок проводится в рамках школьной программы, при повторении тем: “Внешность и характер”, “Дружба”, “Школа”. Урок включает дополнительные материалы, тем самым расширяет лексический запас слов учащихся, повышает уровень владения языком. Сочетание различных методов обучения (использование песни, групповая форма работы) создают ситуацию успеха на уроке, вызывают у учащихся желание высказать своё мнение, повышают интерес к изучению иностранного языка.
Цель урока:
– усовершенствование умений и навыков письменной речи.
Задачи урока:
– совершенствование речевых навыков по теме: “Внешность и характер”;
– развитие умений и навыков аудирования;
– подготовка к написанию личного письма.
Ход урока
1. Warm-up
Учащиеся повторяют лексику и описывают внешность человека на фотографии.
Appearance
Hair: bald, dark, fair, red, grey, fringe, plaits, ponytail, shoulder-length, blond, curly, long, wavy.
Age: in her/his/early/mid/late teens, twenties, thirties, middle-aged, elderly.
Face: chin, eyebrows, forehead, freckles, lips, moustache, beard, wrinkles.
Shape: narrow, thin, long.
General; good-looking, dark/light complexion, short, tall, well-built, overweight, slim, pretty.
Look at the picture and answer the questions:
- What do you think the man in the photograph is like?
- How important is the first impression?
- Do you judge people on their appearance?
- What do you think is more important: appearance or character?

6. Homework
Учащиеся читают домашнее задание и отвечают на вопросы учителя.
You`ve received a letter from your pen-friend Andrew.
“… We moved our house a couple of weeks ago and I had to change school. I feel very lonely because I haven`t got friends here and I miss my classmates and teachers. In your previous letter you wrote that you had met your best friend at school. How did it happen? What is your friend like? How do you spend your free time together?”
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter answer all his questions.
Write 80 – 100 words.
Remember the rules of letter writing.
- Who are you going to write a letter?
- Why are you going to write a letter?
- What is written at the beginning and at the end of the letter?
- What is the main topic of the letter?
- How many paragraphs are there in the letter?
- What grammar structures would you choose to describe your friend?
