Цель урока: систематизация знаний о социокультурной специфике стран изучаемого языка и культурных особенностях носителей языка, их привычках, традициях.
Задачи:
- Обобщение лексико-грамматический материал по теме "Обычаи и традиции англоговорящих стран"
- Совершенствование речевых навыков и умений
- Воспитание толерантности по отношению к иным языкам и культуре
- Развитие познавательного интереса к иностранному языку
- Систематизация страноведческого материала и расширение лингвистического кругозора учащихся
- Развитие творческой деятельности учащихся
Учебная группа: учащиеся 7 класса.

Ход урока

Teacher: Good morning boys and girls! Today we'll speak about Christmas - a beautiful holiday which is loved by children and adults. What different things do you associate with Christmas?

T: Christmas pudding was first made many, many years ago. Now it is the highlight of Christmas dinner. Children often put holly on the pudding. Traditionally a coin is placed into the pudding. It brings good luck to a person who finds it.

T: Some people are superstitious. Your homework was to find superstitions connected with Christmas. Let's see what you've got.
P1: If the wind is blowing on Christmas day, you are in for a good year.
P2: If you want to have good health the next year, eat an apple on Christmas Eve.
P3: If you want to be happy, eat Christmas pudding on Christmas day.
P4: If it snows on Christmas day, Easter will be green.
P5: If you wear new shoes on Christmas day, it will bring you bad luck.
P6: You will have as many happy months in the coming year, as the number of houses you eat mince pies in during Christmas season.
P7: If a baby is born on Christmas day, it will have a special fortune.
P8: If you cut a mince pie, you'll "cut your luck" too.
P9: If you refuse a mince pie at Christmas dinner, you will have bad luck for the coming day.
P10: Good luck will come to the home where a fire is kept burning throughout the Christmas seasons.
