Ведущий 1: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! We’re greeting you on our board! We are flying from Moscow to London!

Ведущий 2: Good afternoon! It’s nice to see that you are interested in England, the English and their language.

Ведущий 1: We have little time! We should hurry up!

Ведущий 2: Wait a moment! The departure is in 10 minutes. But our passengers haven’t answered some interesting questions yet. They’ll let our guests get on our plain.

Ведущий 1: So, let’s begin! (Слайды 2–13).

Ведущий 2: Well done. Make comfortable yourself! While we’re flying, let’s remember the ABC.

Ведущий 1: Do you know, the most used letter is e. The most widespread first letter is T.

Ведущий 2: The pupils from Form 2 prepared some poems about these letters. Please, you are welcome! (Слайд 14).

Ученики выходят с заранее приготовленными рисунками про букву и читают стихотворения.

1. Ee

E is for Eight and for Eleven.
How much is eight and eleven.

2. Tt

T is for Tick and for Tock.
“Tick-tock”, says the clock.

Ведущий 1: Thank you very much! Look, we are already in Great Britain!

Ведущий 2: How lucky you are! It’s sunny and bright; the sky is blue and clear, as if nature greets our guests. (Слайд 15).

Ведущий 1: I hope that it won’t change.

Ведущий 2: Hope! The English weather is very changeable. Sudden rain, wind or fog is constantly breaking plans. (Слайд 16).

Ведущий 1: Like it happened with Mr. Bordon from the limerick.

Выходит ученик/ученица и рассказывает стихотворение с переводом.

Mr. Bordon went to London
In a shower of rain.
He stepped in a puddle
Right up to the middle
And never went there again.

Мистер Бордон отправился в Лондон,
Весь день его дождь промывал,
Свалился он в лужу,
Промок еще хуже,
И больше он здесь не бывал.

Ведущий 2: We hope that everything will be ok. Especially with the help of true friends. (Слайд 17).

A sonnet to a friend

With friends you have a lot of fun.
A friend will never let you down.
You’ll tell your secrets to your friend,
And he will always understand.
A friend is always there for you,
And you can talk your problems through.
And now the most important thing,
He’ll be with you through thick and thin.
But if your friend just wants some fun.
And when you need him – lets you down.
And doesn’t give a helping hand,
That is a “fair-weather” friend.
He’ll stand by you to the end –
And then you call that one your friend.

Ведущий 1: Now we are flying over Scotland. Scotland is a free and wild country of brave Highlander and Lochness monster. (Слайд 18).

Ведущий 2: Scientists found out that the Russian poet of the 19th century Mikhail Lermontov had ancestors from Scotland. (Слайд 19).

Ученик: Scottish folk songs, lullabies, were passed on in Lermontov family from one generation to another. And this is no accident. There is a famous ancient clan Leer mount in Scotland. Its representatives pretend to be relatives of the Russian poet. According to legend Lermontov’s ancestor Peter Lermontoff was captured by Russian soldiers during arm. Though it’s not defined exactly where and when they happened (there are different opinions on this point). This man settled in Russia and became a founder of the whole Scottish clan on Russian soil.

Ученик: Scotland is a coast cut by the wind and waves with small islands and beautiful dolphins. It is sheep with hair of valuable strains, noble deer and eagles soaring in the air. It is shrill sounds of bagpipes and a fascinating dance.

Ведущий 2: Let’s enjoy it.

<Приложение можно получить у автора статьи.>Фрагмент фильма “Коллекция “Золотой глобус”. Шотландия”. (Слайд 20).

Ведущий 1: Scotland is left behind and England is waiting for us! The English are crazy about animals. They take care of dogs, rats, mice, cats… (Слайд 21).

Ведущий 2: Welcome pupils from Form 4 who have prepared the fairy-tale “House in the Wood” for you. (Слайд 22).

Сказка “Теремок” (4 класс)

Ведущий 1: The English like cats most of all. Listen to the poem “Three little kittens”. (Слайд 23).

Three Little Kittens

Three little kittens
They lost their mittens,
And they began to cry,
Oh, mother dear,
We greatly fear
Our mittens we have lost.

Lost your mittens,
You naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie.
Miew, miew, miew,
No, you shall have no pie.

Three little kittens
They found their mittens.
And they began to cry,
Oh, mother dear,
See here, see here,
Our mittens we have found!

Found your mittens,
Your clever kittens,
Then you shall have some pie.
Purr, purr, purr,
Oh, let us have some pie.

Ведущий 1: Talking to the English, be careful! They don’t tell anything about their private life. Their private life is close to other people. Having a talk to an Englishman don’t ask him about his birthplace, what he likes to eat, how much he earns, where he buys his clothes and so on. It’s his private matter. Such questions can offend an Englishman since he doesn’t like to let somebody to his house.

Ведущий 2: Listen to the poem “The house that Jack built”. (Слайд 24).

Инсценировка стихотворения.

Ведущий 1: And now we are flying over Liverpool. The town is famous for its group “Beatles”. Everybody knows them and sings their songs. Let’s listen to the song “Yesterday”. (Слайд 25).

Ученики исполняют песню.

Ведущий 2: And now you are welcome to London, the capital of Great Britain! We’ll travel by double-decker bus. It’s the best way to get around London. (Слайд 26).

Ведущий 1: It will be interesting for you. You can see over walls and bridges and get a fantastic view of the city.

Ведущий 2: So, we’re on the double-decker’s top deck. Like any capital London has some distinguished features without which it’s impossible to imagine this city, for example, its sights. Call famous places of interest in London, please.

(Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, the Tower, the House of Parliament …)

Ведущий 1: Well done! We can agree with Dr Johnson’s words “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life”. Now we can see London Zoo. There is a monument to the real female bear Winnie who gave birth to the imaginary bear Winnie-the-Poor. (Слайд 27).

Ведущий 2: The English take care of their animals as well as nature. London is a green city. There are many parks, gardens and churchyards in London where people can do sports and have a rest. (Слайд 28).

Ученик: The most famous parklands are the six royal parks: St. James’s Park, Buckingham Palace Gardens, Green Park, Hyde Park, with its Speakers’ Corner for soapbox orators; Kensington Gardens, with the Victorian Gothic Albert Memorial and a cultural centre; and Regent’s Park, home of the Zoological Gardens and Regent’s (Grand Union) Canal. The Londoners are very proud of them. (Слайд 29, 30).

Ведущий 1: The English is a homeland of football. They love football and go in for it everywhere. There is the Football Museum in London. (Слайд №31)

The Football Museum may be the only in the world. Fans of this sport can watch 15-minutes films about signal past matches, photos from the history of football. And the history of football, especially in England, is very interesting. It’s known worldwide about English football fans’ excitement and bellicosity.

Ведущий 1: No wonder that most of the football terms are English words. Football originally developed in England where Football Association was organized in 1863. Name English football terms that are used in our language. (гол, форвард, аут…)

Ведущий 2: It’s five o’clock. Let’s have a cup of tea. (Слайд 32).

Ученик: The English love tea. Tea in the English culture is a national proud. Only tea helps an Englishman to come to consciousness, to relax, to get over illness. The English drink tea about six times a day. There is a concept “morning tea” that they drink early in the morning – at 6 a.m. Tea is also a must for breakfast, it’s already at 8 a.m. They also drink tea for lunch, at 11 a.m. During the working day an Englishman has “tea break”. But the most usual time for tea is “Five o’clock!”

Ведущий 1: Ok. Let’s have a cup of tea.

Ведущий 2: Great! Thank you! We are approaching to Leicester Square and Chinatown. These are ideal places to watch films, listen to modern music, go to the theatre and eat delicious food. (Слайд 33).

Ведущий 1: There are busts to famous people who lived here once. You can see monuments to Shakespeare and Charlie Chaplin. (Слайд 34).

Ученик: Do you know, that

  • Chaplin had blue eyes.
  • Chaplin was a left-hander.
  • Chaplin’s favourite kind of sport was box.
  • Chaplin’s favourite dance was tango.
  • Acting in his films Chaplin earned about $ 10, 5 millions.
  • During Chaplin’s films shooting only one accident happened. Chaplin crippled on shooting the film “A silent street”.
  • In 1920 Chaplin’s character “a small man”, “tramp” was famous in Europe as “Sharlo”.

Ведущий 2: Let’s enjoy one of his films. (Слайд 35).

<Приложение можно получить у автора статьи.>Просмотр фрагмента фильма “Цирк”.

Ведущий 2: The English are heart and kind people. Today you have known a lot about them.

Ведущий 1: Finishing the tour around London and its outskirts we should thank you, dear friends, for your interest in other people’s and cultures history. Thank you very much!

Ведущий 2: We are going to the airport Heathrow where a comfortable plane will take you home, to Moscow (Слайд 36). Good-bye! Good luck! (Слайд 37).
