Урок английского языка в 10-м классе "Книги или компьютеры? Кто победит?"

Цели урока

Обучающие:

1. Совершенствование лексических навыков по теме “Компьютеры”.

2. Совершенствование навыков и умений монологической речи по теме (в связи с услышанным и прочитанным).

Развивающие:

1. Развитие личностной активности через учебную деятельность.

2. Развитие речевых способностей, связанных с речевой деятельностью и мыслительных операций (умение сравнивать, анализировать, обобщать).

Воспитательные:

1. Воспитание бережного отношения к общечеловеческим ценностям, знаниям, достижениям.

2. Воспитание уважительного отношения к мнению собеседника.

3. Воспитание культуры языкового общения.

Задачи урока:

1) предъявить и закрепить в речи лексику по теме;

2) учить полностью понимать содержание прочитанного текста по теме;

3) учить понимать на слух микротексты по теме с общим охватом содержания и с извлечением нужной информации;

4) учить выражать согласие (несогласие) с мнениями других людей по поводу будущего книг и компьютеров и аргументировать мнение, используя новую лексику по теме;

5) учить отвечать на вопросы по теме, используя новые лексические единицы;

6) учить устно высказываться по теме, пользуясь опорами.

Место урока в серии других уроков: первый урок темы “Компьютеры”.

Тип урока: урок изучения и первичного закрепления знаний.

Оснащение урока: О.Л.Гроза, “Английский язык нового тысячелетия” Учебник английского языка для 10 класса общеобразовательных учреждений, 2010 г, магнитофон, аудиокассета, мультимедиапроектор, компакт-диск.

Формы организации познавательной деятельности: индивидуальная, парная, фронтальная.

Система контроля на уроке: контроль учителя, самоконтроль учащихся.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент. (2 мин.)

Good Morning, students. Glad to see you! Sit down, please. (Слайд 1)

The theme of today’s lesson is “Books or computers? Who will be the winner?” There are different opinions about the future of books and computers. There can be little doubt about the advantages of computers. But books have been a part of our culture for hundreds of years. Who will be the winner?

Today at the lesson we’ll learn how to express opinion, agreement and disagreement, answer questions, use new words in speech and by the end of the lesson you will be able to make a report about the future of books and computers.

II. Разминка. (2 мин.)

There are different means of storing information.

1. What means of storing information were there in the ancient times?

2. What followed manuscripts?

3. What will follow books?

4. Please, open your books, look at the pictures at page 122 and let’s see if you were right or not.

III. Предъявление лексики по теме. (7 мин.)

To speak about the future of books and computers we need new words from exercise 2 A at page 122.

1. Read the words and their definitions. Three of them are mixed. Find and match them.

2. Using the given definitions, explain what these words mean.

IV. Закрепление новой лексики. (17 мин.)

1. Чтение текста по теме и выражение согласия (несогласия) по поводу отсутствия будущего у книг.

There are different opinions about the future of books and computers. This is one of them.

1. Read one opinion on the future of books in ex. 2 D, p. 123. While reading, fill in the gaps with the words from the screen. (Слайд 2)

2. Listen to the tape and check your answers.

3. Agree or disagree that there is no future to printed books. Explain why. Use the information from the text of ex. 2 D at p. 123.

2. Аудирование микротекстов о мнениях людей по поводу будущего книг и компьютеров и выражение собственного мнения.

Let’s listen to what young people think about the future of books and computers.

1.  Listen and fill in the chart. Tick the correct column. (Слайд 3)

2. Say what these people think about the future of books and computers.

For example: Dana thinks that computers will replace books.

3. Who do you agree (disagree) with?

As for me, I think that books and computers will co-exist.

3. Аудирование микротекстов, содержащих аргументацию мнений людей по поводу будущего книг и компьютеров и аргументация собственного мнения.

Each speaker has got arguments.

1. Listen to the arguments each speaker used.

2. Find ex. 2 C, p. 122. Listen and tick.

3. Name the arguments each speaker used. (Слайд 4)

For example: Dana thinks that computers allow us to access the latest information really quickly.

4. Who do you agree with?

As for me, I agree with Michael. Books are enjoyable things.

V. Минута отдыха. (2 мин.)

Now it’s time to have a short rest. Eyes are tired and hurt because we have to stay in front of monitors for hours. Let’s do a number of exercises to help our eyes. Don’t move your head, only eyes.

Eyes up, eyes down, eyes left, eyes right, roll your eyes, shut them, open them.

Now you can move your head.

Look on the left at the window and say if you like today’s weather? Why?

What do you think about books’ and computers’ future?

1. Look at the screen and answer questions. (Слайд 5, cлайд 6)

1) Are there a lot of different means of storing information?

2) What means of storing information were there in the ancient times?

3) What followed manuscripts?

4) What will follow books?

5) Do different people think differently about the future of books and computers?

6) What does Dana think?

7) Do you agree with Dana?

8) What are Dana’s arguments?

9) What are your arguments?

10) Do you agree that there is no future to printed books? Why?

11) Who will be the winner: books or computers? Why?

2. Prepare a talk about the future of books and computers using the questions as a plan.

VII. Устное монологическое высказывание по теме с использованием опор. (3 мин.)

VIII. Подведение итогов урока. (1 мин.)

To my mind nobody knows what the future holds. May be books and computers will co-exist. In fact, books have always been a part of human culture and they will always be.
