Good morning, children. I'm glad to see you. I hope you're fine. Today we are here to sum up our knowledge about your rights and duties, to speak about teens' life in general and urgent problems in your life as well. There are a lot of shows on TV concerning teens and their life. Why not make ours? Let's get ready for our show. We need:
T: The host of our programme is: |
Ch.: We are glad to see you, too.
P: It's a good idea.
Нost: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. We're here to speak, not to keep silent. Do you have to go to school till 17? Is it necessary to be at all lessons at school? Why can't you buy cigarettes at 15 while you have a passport at 14? Are you allowed to get married and study at school at the same time? There're a lot of other questions that seem to be very important for you and we discuss some of them. Let me introduce our guests. Ms. Wise, a psychologist of Institute of Human Life. Mr. Law, an experienced lawyer. Mrs. Smith, the best mum of the year. And now our fist story. |
(Перед аудиторией выступают учащиеся со своими проблемами)
P1: My name is : I'm 15. I hate school. I cannot stand my school so I skip it almost every day. Luckily, I'm a smart person and I'm in all of the advanced classes and I don't have a reputation as a rebel. Only the people who really know me know about my strange feelings. My parents don't care. I get so depressed. I want to leave school but I realize it will ruin my life. I don't have any qualification, so I can't earn enough living. What shall I do?
Host: That's the problem. What do you think about it?
Mr. Law: Articles 28, 29 proclaim the right to education and development. It means that every child can go to school. It helps to develop his skills and prepare for adult life. It's not fun, of course, it's a chore. If you want to be successful you should get good education.
(Комментарии юриста сопровождаются слайдами презентации со статьями из "Конвенции по правам защиты детей")
Ms. Wise: You are right. But the problem is more serious as it seems. I invite you to my lectures " How to overcome difficulties" and I try to help you as well.
Participant of the show: Try to change school or just have your private teachers. To my mind good education is the key to your success.
P1: Thank you. Дегтярева Л.Н. № 230-770-852
Host: Our next guest has a problem of another kind. Her parents are everywhere with her. Let's listen to her.
P2: Hello. I' m 16. I'm the only child in the family and I think that my parents want to control my life. They always teach me how to live, what is good or bad. They make me share there interests in music, clothing and what not. They bought me a mobile phone and want me to keep in on all the time, so that they can contact me anywhere, anytime.
I dislike the idea of always being available. I'm not alone even in my room. They look through my papers, notes or letters. I hate it. What shall I do?
Mr. Law: It's unfair. According to article 16 children have the right to privacy. Nobody can open children's letters and listen to their phone calls.
Participant of the show: You are not their slave, they don't own you. You should have a word with them of course.
Mrs. Smith: It's a very serious problem. We, adults, compare our generation yours. But every new generation grows up quicker, enjoys more freedom. It's better educated and benefits from the results of the technological progress of the time. I think tolerance is the only way to bridge the gap of the generations. There are a lot of books, films, articles and, of course, poems about age and youth. Listen to one of them.
Participant of the show: ( Читает наизусть стихотворение Шекспира " Age and Youth")
Host: It makes you think, doesn't it?
Mr. Wise. I want you to fill in " Parents' test". Just how "bad" your parents are. Are they normal? Answer the questions and see your parents' score.
(Учащиеся читают вопросы анкеты и заполняют ее.)
Host: Now our third character.
P3: Hello. My mane is : I do nothing but homework. My life is so boring. There's nothing for me in my town.
Mr. Law: The Convention proclaims the right to leisure. Every child should have the chance to rest and play.
Participant of the show:
I can't agree with you. Life is interesting. Leisure centres, sport sections, clubs, doscos, cinemas, theatres, first love: It's so exciting. Cheer up. It's time for you to be active.
Host: Well, you see being a teenager is very difficult, great and serious at the same time. No doubt, the teens' problems will increase. And young children should feel that they are cared for.
