- повысить интерес учащихся к изучению английского языка, ознакомить с живой иноязычной культурой, познакомить их с творчеством английской группы «Битлз»,
- расширить кругозор в области музыки, стимулировать коммуникативные навыки учащихся: развивать навыки говорения, навыки диалогической речи учащихся,
- развивать навыки аудирования и фонетики, воспитывать любовь к музыке, к культуре языкового общения,
- научить внимательно слушать собеседника стимулировать коммуникативные навыки учащихся.
Подготовка: разучивание песни, отработка слов песни.

Teacher: Music plays an important role in our life. Music helps the people to live. It can make the people laugh and cry. We can meet the music everywhere. I think that the music is the language of our soul. Look at this slide!

Teacher: Yes, you are right. She is very popular in the world!
She sings such words in her song “Music”:

Music makes the people come together
Music mixes the bourgeoisie and the rebels.
What do these words mean? They mean that all the people love music: the rich and the poor listen to music and it joins them together.
(Slide 3) Look at the slide and answer some questions about music:
- Do you like music?
- What kind of music do you like?
- Do you prefer Russian or foreign music?
- What group do you like to listen to?
- What singers do you like best of all?
- Would you like to be a popular singer? Why?
- What do you think is it difficult to be a star?
Now there are a lot of musical programs on the radio and TV and we listen to many songs which were very popular when our parents or even grandparents were young. Every man’s life is connected with this or that period of his life when those songs were popular. The man lives this life again with this song, remembers all happy or unhappy days which were at that time.
So, let’s introduce with the group “Beatles”. It was very popular some years ago but their songs you can listen very often. Look at this slide!
(Slide 4) The group was called the famous Liverpool Four. The Beatles the first really important British pop-group was formed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

They came from Liverpool, a town in the north of England. The Beatles had their first hit record in 1962. Their famous songs were “Michelle”, “Yesterday”, “Girl”, “Love me do” and many others.

Their manager Brian Epstein gave them a new clean image with short hair, white shirts and elegant suits. Those young men composed songs for the youth. They made a revolution in pop-history. The girls liked The Beatles, the boys tried to look like them.
