Цели:

  • актуализировать и развивать знания учащихся о здоровье и здоровом образе жизни;
  • формировать навыки самостоятельного анализа и оценки предлагаемой информации;
  • воспитывать активную жизненную позицию, ответственное отношение к своему здоровью.

Участники: учащиеся девятых классов.

Оформление:

  • Фотографии известных спортсменов и лучших спортсменов лицея.
  • Пословицы о здоровье.
  • Фрукты для приготовления салатов.
  • Фильм о вреде курения.

Перед началом мероприятия класс делится на команды, 5-6 человек в каждой, придумывает названия командам. В течение урока ведётся подсчёт очков и подводятся итоги. Лучшая команда получает приз.

Ведущий 1: Hello dear friends! Today we are going to talk about sports and a healthy way of life. People say, you can't buy health but you can keep it, if you begin taking care of it early enough.

Ведущий 2: Many people in our country go in for sport. You can hardly find a person who doesn't know the name of Yevgenii Pluschenko, Aleksei Nemov, Alina Kabayeva and many other famous sportsmen.

Ведущий 1: Sport makes people healthy. It teachers you to win.

Ведущий 2: Sport makes you strong.

Ведущий 1: You find new friends.

Ведущий 2: Many students at lyceum go in for different kunds of sport.

Ведущий 1: Today some of them will tell us why they have chosen their sport.

Ведущий 1: Perhaps, smoking is a more spread bad habit. There are some shocking facts about smoking:

Over 90% of all smokers start before they are 18.

The average age for a new smoker is 13.

Among the 13-year-old smokers there are more girls than boys.

Smoking kills about 3 million people every year. Some aren't even smokers. They are people who live or work with heavy smokers.

Your clothes and hair will have a terrible smell.

Your teeth will turn yellow.

You will have bad breath.

Your hair and skin will become dry.You'll get premature wrinkles.

Smokers store more fat around the waist.

A smoker is 22 times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non- smoker.

In fact 30% of all cancer deaths are caused by smoking.

Smoking causes heart attacks. By the way, heart disease is now the number -one killer in Russia.

Nicotine isn't the only bad thing in cigarettes,there are over 400 chemicals in one cigarette that are known to be harmful.

Smoking causes bronchitis, asthma and emphysema.

Pregnant women (especially teenagers) who smoke will face a lot of pregnancy risks. They even may give birth to stillborn babies.

Babies of women smokers are more likely to have mental disorders than babies of women non-smokers.

Babies with mothers who smoke develop more slowly during childhood.

Cigarette smoke clogs and makes lungs awfully dirty.

Nicotine is as addictive as heroin or cocaine.

Seven out of 10 smokers want to quit, but can't.

To smoke or not to smoke?

You'd have to be living on Mars not to know that smoking is dangerous. Yet statistics show that young people today smoke more, not less. Why?

One answer is that many teens think it is cool. Another is the enormous sums of money invested in advertising cigarettes.

Tobacco companies spend millions to encourage the young to start or continue smoking.

"The Malboro Man", "Joe and Camel" and others do cool things and act importantly while smoking - just to get you to think that if you smoke this brand, you can do these things too. This isn't true. These people are not real and the things they do are made-up.

For tobacco companies cigarettes mean money. For us they mean disease and even death.

Should smoking be banned in public places?

Smokers in Europe and the USA sometimes feel as though war has been declared on them. There is no more smoking in offices,restaurants,aeroplanes or most other public places.

Do you think it's a good idea? Most people think it is.

Smoking is awful and I personally can't stick the smell. As for me, I wouldn't just ban smoking in public but I would ban it everywhere in every country.

I have friends who smoke. Sure, I don't want them to, but they do smoke anyway. I don't think that banning it in the public will work at all. People will do what they want when they want.

Ведущий 1: Now you are going to read the text and answer the question what are the problems mentioned in the text?

Many parents in the USA want their families to eat healthy and nutritious food nowadays. Fatty food is dangerous not only for adults but for children as well. It is advisable to have your cholesterol count checked regularly. Research shows that cutting down on cheese, butter and ice-cream in your diet will help lower your cholesterol level 50 points and only this will decrease your risk of developing heart problems later on.

Research also shows that children are heavier today than they used to be some 20-30 years ago, and that the rate of obesity of young children has increased by nearly 60%.

More and more parents worry about what their children eat, and bring into their family diets more fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. They avoid paying regular visits to fast-food restaurants because McDonalds's and the like serve mostly unhealthy, fatty, high cholesterol food.

Possible answers:

More and more children eat fast food.

Children suffer from obesity.

Dairy builds strong teeth and bones by providing calcium.

Fruit and vegetables group: Wildberry, orange, corn, carrots, cabbage, juice.

Fruits/Vegetables help you have healthy gums, good eyesight etc.by providing Vitamins A and C.

Bread- cereal group: Cereal, spaghetti/pasta, bread.

Bread/cereal give you energy by providing protein, iron and several B vitamins.

Fats and sugar: Sugar, chocolate, butter.

Fats/ sugar are sources of energy.

a) Remove the pan from the heat and press the orange and lemon rind against the sides of the pan to release all their oils. Cover the pan and let cool. Remove and discard the rind.

b) Strain the fruit pulp, pressing the solids in the sieve to extract as much of the juice as possible.

c) Wash the oranges and lemons and then pare the rind off the fruit with a sharp knife, leaving the white pith behind. Remove the pith from the fruit and discard it.

d) Pour into a tall glass filled with finely crushed ice and decorate with a slice of orange and lemon.

e) Put the orange and lemon rind in a saucepan with the sugar and water. Place over low heat and stir gently until the sugar has dissolved.

f) Puree the oranges and lemon and sweeten the fruit pulp by pouring the cooled citrus syrup over the fruit pulp. Set aside for 2-3 hours to allow the flavours to infuse.

For Millennium Sunrise you need two oranges, 1 lemon, sugar (a half of a small spoon). You should also take five tablespoons water. Besides, you should leave some orange and lemon slices to decorate glasses with the cocktail.
