Цели урока.

Учебные: формирование и совершенствование лексических навыков говорения по теме; совершенствование навыков диалогической речи.

Развивающие: развитие способности к продуктивной речевой деятельности, к обобщению.

Воспитательные: привитие уважения к культуре страны изучаемого языка; расширение знаний о Великобритании.

Оборудование:

  • Учебник “Enjoy English” 5-6 классы (авторы Биболетова М.З., Добрынина Н.В., Трубанева Н.Н.).
  • Презентация PowerPoint “Faces of London”. (Приложение 1)
  • Карточки с вопросами Quiz “What do you know about London?”. (Приложение 2)

Ход урока

I. Introduction.

Hello, dear friends! I am glad to see you. Today we will travel to London. Would you like to learn more about the capital of the UK? Let’s begin our tour.

II. Warming-up activity.

Listen to the poem (слайд 2):

Pussy-cat, pussy-cat, where have you been?
I’ve been to London to look at the Queen.
Pussy-cat, pussy-cat, what did you do there?
I frightened a little mouse under a chair.

Read the poem aloud.

Teacher: Have you ever been to London?

Ss: No, I haven’t. / I’ve never been to London.

Teacher: Would you like to go to London? What would you like to see there? When you travel in other countries and cities you can see a lot of interesting places. What are they?

Ss: museums, galleries, monuments, theatres, parks, square, etc.

Teacher: What places of interest in London do you know? Match the two parts of word-expressions to get the names of the sights in London. (Слайд 3)

III. Activity 1. Работа с презентацией “Faces of London”.

Teacher: Look at the pictures and name the places of interest in London. (Слайды 4-5)

Ss: the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace.

Teacher: Guess the sights of London by their descriptions. (Слайды 6-21)

Ss: читают описания достопримечательностей, угадывают, по гиперссылке открывается слайд с изображением.

IV. Activity 2. Обучение диалогической речи по теме “Asking the Way”.

Teacher: Would you like to go to London? Imagine that we are in London. We’d like to see some places of interest. But we don’t know the way. Let’s ask some Londoners for help. Listen to the dialogue, read and then try to make up your own dialogues.

Dialogue (слайд 22)

  • Excuse me, please. Could you tell me how to get to Trafalgar Square?
  • Oh, it’s very easy. Go along this street and it will lead you to Trafalgar Square.
  • Thank you very much.
  • You are welcome. Have a nice day.

Варианты для подстановки в диалоги (слайд 23):

- Excuse me, I’m looking for… . Can you tell me where … is?/ Can you help me? Where is …?

- Sure, it’s not far./It’s over there./ It’s just in front of you. /Turn left/right./ It’s on the corner of the street, etc.

Ss: слушают диалог, читают вслух, составляют собственные диалоги.

Диалоги учащихся оцениваются.

V. Activity 3. Quiz “What do you know about London?”

Teacher: Now let’s see what you’ve learned about London. (Раздаются карточки с вопросами)
