Teacher: Good-afternoon, I am very pleased to see you all.
Our lesson is devoted to music. We are going to talk about the role of music in our life, about famous performers. We shall learn to define different types of music and different musical instruments and of course we shall listen to music.( Музыкальный фон – «Одиссей» И.Крутой)
I want to begin our lesson with the question:
Can you live without music?
Предполагаемые ответы уч-ся. – No, I can not. I think, nobody can live without music.
Teacher:
You are right. We can not think a day without music because music is everywhere: at home, in a concert hall, in parks, in the streets, on TV, in the shops, over the radio, at the sea side. We like to listen to music of nature in the field, in the forest, near the river. Music is the soundtrack of our life. So let music play at our lesson.

What is music?

Music is a combination of pleasant sounds.

I know your parents are concerned about the music you like to listen. Let us read some texts about it.
Учащиеся читают тексты и выполняют задания к ним. (используется материал учебника)
Teacher:
There are many people from the world of music.
(под тихую инструментальную музыку на доске показываются слайды с изображением известных исполнителей и композиторов)
Teacher:
They are pop stars. And would you like to become a star? How do you think what is necessary to be a pop star? ( Activity Book ex.6 p.22)

Can anybody of you play musical instruments? There are many of them. They play different types of music. Here they are. Can you name them?

Teacher:
And now take your sheets №2 and do the task: complete the sentences with the prepositions from the box. Translate them. ( Activity book ex.7 p.23)
Итог урока: Учитель благодарит учащихся за работу на уроке, объявляет и комментирует оценки. Учащиеся ещё раз положительно отвечают на вопрос - Can people live without music?
Домашнее задание: Activity Book ex.13 p.28 (закончить предложения , составить рассказ об американской певице Билли Холидей)
