Цели урока:
- рактический компонент: совершенствование речевых навыков монологической речи, диалогической речи, аудирования, поискового чтения;
- воспитательный компонент: воспитание бережливости;
- развивающий компонент: развитие механизма вероятностного прогнозирования, логического мышления,внимания, памяти, речемыслительной деятельности учащихся;
- образовательный компонент: расширить кругозор учащихся путём ознакомления с традициями страны изучаемого языка.
Сопутствующие задачи:
- совершенствование фонетических навыков;
- совершенствование грамматических навыков.

Ход урока
I. Орг.момент: постановка цели урока, установка на успешную работу.
Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you today. Shopping is a subject of our today’s lesson. Today we are going to discuss kinds of shops, goods we can buy there? The ways of doing shopping in the UK and compare it with the shopping in Russia. You are going to try working in a shop, being a shop assistant and a customer. At the end of the lesson we shall see if shopping has really become a part of our everyday life.
II. Языковая зарядка

- How often do you go shopping?
What is your favourite shop in Raevka? Why?
III. Речевая зарядка
1) Look at the board, please. Here are some words about shopping and money. The letters here are mixed. Please, give the right variant of the words.
2) Use the given words and complete the sentences
3) Answer my questions.
- There are so many kinds of shops. What kinds of do you know?
- Look! There are some shop signs. Read them and match with the names of the shops.
- Tell what goods we can buy there.
4) Here are two columns of things we can find almost in every shop. Please, match column A to column B to get the whole word.

For those people who are too busy to stand in a queue or live far from any shopping centre, armchair shopping is just right. You have only to turn your computer and click your favourite shop.

If you don’t know the online address of the shop, you should use a search engine. It will help you. Enter the shop and get a virtual shopping basket. Just click on the thing you want to buy and drag it into the shopping basket. When you want to pay for your bargains, enter a secure part of the site.

Shopping online is convenient for people who don’t have any cars, are housebound or too busy to go shopping. Usually goods there are cheaper. The most comfortable thing about online shopping is that goods are delivered to the doorstep.

From the other hand, online shopping has a lot of problems. Online shoppers can’t see or feel the quality of the goods they are buying or try on clothes.

Here are some tips how to shop safely:
- enter only well-known online shops,
- be sure that the site is secure if you pay by credit card,
- if you want to buy some electrical goods check if they can work in your country.

1) It’s time to learn a bit more about the shopping in the UK. We begin with some information about the shopping in London at first. (The pupils are telling their reports)
2) Now you are going to watch a short video film about a typical town of Strawford in the UK. Please, tick what shops you can find there.
3) We continue our speaking about the shopping in the UK. Open your books, please. Page 60 ex. 4. Read the questions and try to guess the answers. There can be more than one correct answer. Listen to the text and check if you were right.
4) We’ve learnt much interesting about the shopping in the UK. Let’s compare it with the shopping in Russia. Answer my questions, please.

- Are there any special offers in shops in our country?
- Do people in Russia usually ask for a discount in shops?
