Take them and write down your names. Now you are writers. I hope you will be great writers. Can you tell me, what this book will be about? Yes, you are right. Today everyone has a chance to tell the world about your heroes. Today we try to answer the questions: Who is a real hero? What kind of person is he (she)? Who is a hero for modern teens? I hope that you will be great writers.

My mother's hero's ...
He is the best example
For ... and all people
Living in the world.
Heroes may be ...
Writers, actors or relatives
We want to be ...
As these ...personalities
We have a problem. Some words have disappeared. Can you help me to write it again?
Учащиеся слушают.
My hero is a person
Who never can betray me
We always get together
You've guessed, it's my friend***
My mother's hero's Putin
He is the best example
For Russians and all people
Living in the world.***
Heroes may be different
Writers, actors or relatives
We want to be generous
As these great personalities.

T: I see you are really good poets. What does the word “celebrity” means? Recently I’ve met this word in the magazines. For example, I’ve read K.Sobchak is our Russian celebrity. Is there a difference between the words a “hero” or” celebrity”? No? (P1, P2, P3). (Приложение 7)
Let’s read the definitions from the dictionary. (учащиеся читают в своем А)
T: Have we been right? And now you know the difference between the words a “hero “and a” celebrity”. Look here and divide the pictures “celebrities” and “heroes”. (Приложение 8)
V. Поисковое чтение.
Listen to the song and find the words in the text characterizing heroes and celebrities.
But he's nobody's hero
Saves a drowning child
Cures a wasting disease
Hero - lands the crippled airplane
Solves great mysteries.
Hero - not the handsome actor
Who plays a hero's role,
Hero - not the glamour girl
Who'd love to sell her soul,
If anybody's buying,
Nobody's hero.

VII. Контроль навыков аудирования.
T: Well. I see you know many outstanding people from Britain and the USA, of course, people often choose heroes among famous people. Can an ordinary person be a hero? Your mother or your neighbour, or may be your classmate? (P1, P2…) What is a hero? The answer to this question you can find in this short story. (Учащиеся прослушивают текст).
What is a hero to you? Is it a survivor, someone who has saved someone’s life or is it just someone who you look up to? My grandfather, Morris Wajcer, embraces all of these heroic values. He is my hero.
Morris Wajcer was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He grew up in Poland with his family. This is where he went to school. Morris Wajcer was a brilliant man, although he never finished school. In grade seven he was forced to leave his education because he was Jewish. It was the beginning of World War II. My grandfather was forced to grow up by the age of thirteen; he had to be independent during the war. He had the responsibility of taking care of his family. He had to fight to survive, and he did.
What I really remember about my grandfather was that he was a strong man emotionally and physically. My grandfather was strong until the day he died. He put his life in jeopardy to save other people’s lives. He was a giving man. I don’t know very much about my grandfather’s life during the Holocaust. It pained him to talk about it, but I do know he always maintained his pride in his identity. He persevered. After the war, my grandfather came to Canada. He was poor, but his goal was to always help other people. When immigrants came to Montreal, he brought them to his home to feed them and house them until they had enough money to carry on with their lives. My grandfather bought food for people begging on the streets. Morris Wajcer did more good deeds than I even know of. People respected my grandfather.
The thing Morris Wajcer treasured the most was his family. He had five children and many grandchildren. I am proud to have had him as my grandfather. I love him. My grandfather passed away this past year. To me, he died a hero. When the doctor said he would die in a week, he lived another three months. As I said, he was strong. He survived because his family was around him twenty-four hours a day. He was never alone.
I chose Morris Wajcer as my hero because he had so many heroic values I wish I could have. My grandfather was honest, hardworking, strong, and brave, had a great sense of humour, loved Canada and, most of all, and loved his family. I respected him and I always wanted to listen to what he had to say. My grandfather was a hero to many people, not only to me. I am amazed at all the things he accomplished. He left a positive impression on anyone who talked or spent time with him. When anyone talks about my grandfather, they only speak words of praise. That’s why he is my hero.

Name me, please 5 famous musicians, 5famous inventors, 5 writers or poets, 5 sportsmen.
T: Good work! I hope you can tell your British friends about these great people. Oh, we have a message from London. Our colleagues asked us to tell them about our heroes. In some minutes we’ll have live connection conference with British magazine “Young Telegraph”. (Приложение13) Think about what hero your group will present. (Обсуждают в группе).
T: Your time is over. Are you ready? Let’s start. (Диалог).
XI. Рефлексия.
T: I’m proud of you that you have chosen worthy people as your heroes. Tell me who you admire and I’ll tell you who you are… Look around you. May be somebody needs your help and you can become a hero for him. Perhaps it’s your classmate, who nobody makes friends with, nobody sits with and every day at school is a hardship for him. You can help him!
My hero:
No one sits with him, he doesn't fit in
But we feel like we do when we make fun of him
Cause you want to belong do you go along?
Cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong
It's not like you hate him or want him to die
But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide
Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side
Any kindness from you might have saved his life
Tag:
Heroes are made when you make a choice
Chorus:
You could be a hero
Heroes do what's right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what's right for what's right for what's right
As you see the last page in your book is clean. It’s a place for your own story. You’ll tell the world about your hero. It can be a famous person or somebody around you. It’s your choice! For the first part of your book you can put a mark.
XII. Подведение итогов.
I think that everybody in your class can be a hero too. Somebody would be a hero for the whole country, somebody a hero for your city or village. And somebody would be a hero for your own children. Everything depends on you.
If you have a dream,
To be tall and slim,
To speak as a Queen,
On and on you dream.Months, years, days and nights
Fight with all your might
You should make your life, you
And all your dreams will come true.Don’t wait for a miracle
Don’t look for help
You can do everything
Believe and act
It’s a fact!!!
