1. Australia (official name - The Commonwealth of Australia), capital - Canberra, largest city - Sydney. Official language - English. Australia is famous for its flora and fauna. The typical animals are koala, an animal with thick gray fur that feeds on eucalyptus leaves, and kangaroo, an animal known for its ability to travel by jumping. One of the most popular pastimes in Australia is having barbecue, when people gather together outdoors to cook and chat with each other.
2. Scotland is a country in northwest Europe and one of the four constituent countries oftheUK.it occupies the northern third of the island of Great Britain and shares a land border to the south with England. Capital - Edinburgh, largest city - Glasgow. Official languages - English. The Scottish music scene is a significant aspect of Scottish culture, with both traditional and modem influences. An example of a traditional Scottish instrument is a bagpipe, a wind instrument consisting of one or more musical pipes. The traditional Scottish dish is haggis - a meal made of meat mixed with bowels and other by-products. Those who tried it say it is really delicious. Scotland is also famous for its monster that is said to live at the bottom of the lake Loch Ness. No one knows exactly if the monster exists or not.
3. Canada is a country occupying most of northern North America. Capitaf - Ottawa, largest city - Toronto. Official languages - English, French. The use of the maple leaf as a Canadian symbol dates back to the early 18th century and is depicted on its current and previous flags, the penny, and on the coat of arms. Canada's official national sports are ice hockey (winter) and lacrosse (summer). Hockey is a national pastime and the most popular spectator sport in the country. Canoe, a small narrow boat, is very popular too, especially in summer.
4. New Zealand is a country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two large islands (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands. Capital - Wellington, largest city - Auckland. Official languages - English, Maori, NZ Sign Language. Sport has a major role in New Zealand's culture. The popular sports include cricket, netball, basketball, soccer and rugby. Also popular are golf, tennis, cycling, field hockey, skiing, snowboarding, softball and different extreme sports. Among them is bungee jumping Gumping with a help of elastic cord or rope).
5. Ireland is the third largest island in Europe, and the twentieth largest island in the world. Ireland is called "Emerald Isle" or "Green Island", due to its magnificent green landscapes. The symbol of Ireland is shamrock - a plant with three leaves. The patron saint of the country is St. Patrick. The Irish people celebrate St. Patrick's Day every year on 17 March. On that day they usually wear something green and organize parades and other national events.
6. South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. South Africa is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Official language - English. The South African economy is the largest in Africa and 24th largest in the world. Due to this it is the most socially and economically developed country on the continent. The flora of South Africa presents more than 20,000 different plants, or about 10% of all the known species of plants on Earth. South Africa is also known for its particularly rich fauna, which includes elephants, zebras, lions, antelopes and many other animals. Due to this fact safari, a hunting or sight-seeing trip, is very popular and attracts lots of tourist to South Africa.
