Обобщающий урок "Путешествие по Лондону"

Цели:

  • Знакомство с культурой страны изучаемого языка через достопримечательности.
  • Повышение мотивации в овладении профессией «учитель» через непосредственное участие в обучающем процессе (проведение урока).

Задачи:

  • Активизация навыков устной речи, монологической речи, диалогической речи.
  • Обощение страноведческого материала.
  • Контроль   лексико-грамматических навыков.

ХОД УРОКА

Teacher: Good afternoon, dear friends! Today we are going on an interesting tour around London. We shall see a lot of exiting places you heard about at previous lessons.
Dear children and guests, make yourselves comfortable in our tourist coach!
Before we start I`d like you to watch a short film about the capital of Great Britain. I ask you to watch it attentively  and remember some details because after the film I`ll ask you some questions.

Учащиеся просматривают короткий фильм о Лондоне.

На экране 1 слайд (карта Великобритании).

Teacher: You have heard a real English speech. I`m sure that you don`t understand everything. Don`t worry it`s normal. But I hope you can answer my questions.

  • What is the capital of Great Britain? (It is London)
  • What was the name of London many-many years ago? (Londinium)
  • What is the main river in London? (The Thames)
  • Do you remember how the Londoners call the Thames? (The Father of London). Can you translate the words into Russian?
  • And what is the main Russian river? How do we call it? (Mother Volga)

Teacher: Путешествие по любой стране или городу требует от нас определенных знаний и навыков. Сейчас я раздам Вам карточки, на которых Вы можете прочитать разные советы для туристов. Вы должны прочитать эти советы и объяснить на русском языке, как Вы ими можете воспользоваться. (Учащиеся читают советы).

  • It`s a good idea to keep your traveller cheques, your passport and your credit cards in a safe place
  • Don`t carry large amounts of cash with you.
  • Credit cards are accepted at most major shops.
  • The tourist information centres are very helpful and give free maps.
  • Traveller cheques in dollars, francs, pounds and yens are safer.
  • Most banks are closed at 3 pm and aren`t open Saturday afternoons either.
  • British banks and post offices don`t work on Sundays and national holidays.
  • Shops are usually open from 9 am to 5.30pm.
  • If you dial “999”, you have to tell the operator the address, the telephone number and what service you want.
  • The emergency telephone for the police, ambulance and fire is the same. You dial “999”.
  • A pickpocket is someone who steals purses, handbags and wallets. This is probably the biggest danger you face.

Teacher: So you are welcome to London, the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Look at the map and you will see our way.

As you see, we are in the centre of London. It`s Trafalgar Square. Who will tell us a few words about this sightseeing?

Teacher: Now we are going along the banks of the Thames. I`d like you to read some information about this river. Will you translate the text for our guests?

Учащиеся один за другим читают и переводят текст о Темзе.

– Is the Tower of London an old or modern building?
– It has a long and cruel history, doesn`t it?
– Is the Lower one building or many ones?
– What are their names?
– Does the Queen of Britain live in the Tower?
– What was the Tower many years ago? What is it now?

На экране 5 слайд (здание Парламента).

Teacher: Look out of the window! You can see a great building. Do you recognize it?  You are right. May be somebody wants to tell us a few words about the Houses of Parliament?

Один из учащихся рассказывает о Парламенте.

На экране 6 слайд (Биг Бен).

Teacher: Now you can see Big Ben. Let`s remember a short rhyme about the clock.

Учащиеся хором декламируют стихотворение:

Tick-tock
Tick-tock
This is Big Ben
Big Ben is a clock.
Day and night
With all its might
Big Ben the clock
Says: “Tick-tock!”

Teacher: Who knows something about Big Ben?

Teacher:  Let`s continue our tour. It`s time to relax. What would you like to do? Of course, to sing! We invite our guests to join us!

Учащиеся и гости поют песню, которая высвечивается на экране.

На экране 8 слайд (Вестминстерское аббатство).

Teacher: Every tourist dreams to see Westminster Abby.(Учитель раздает буклеты с планом Вестминстерского аббатства). While you are looking through the leaflets, one of you will give us some information about this place.

Один из учеников рассказывает о Вестминстерском аббатстве.

На экране 9 слайд (Собор святого Павла).

Teacher: Now we are in front of St.Paul`s Cathedral. I hope you remember what we learnt about it  last lessons. Who will refresh our knowledge?

Один из учеников рассказывает о Соборе Святого Павла.

На экране 10 слайд (Тауэр).

Teacher: Now we are near the Tower of London. Please, answer my questions.

Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя о Тауэре.

На экране 11 слайд (музей Мадам Тюсо).

Teacher: The last point of our excursion is Madam Tuesaud`s. Учитель рассказывает учащимся о музее Мадам Тюсо.

Teacher: Did you like the excursion? Now I want you to do some tasks.

На экране 12, 13 слайды (задания). Учащиеся выполняют задания.

Teacher: Our excursion is going to the end but in the evening you will have free time to walk round London. You should learn how to ask the way.

Учитель раздает учащимся отпечатанные диалоги, а затем читают их и разыгрывают.
