Цели и задачи:
- Образовательные - расширение знаний учащихся об Англии;
- Воспитательные - формирование знаний о географии и политической структуре Англии и положительного отношения к культуре страны изучаемого языка, её традициям;
- Развивающие - применение изученного лексико-грамматического материала в новых ситуациях общения.
Краткий сюжет игры.
I этап. Урок географии в английской школе. Рассказ учеников о географическом положении частей Англии;
II этап. Беседа двух подруг после уроков. Одна из подруг, Мэри, посетила с родителями Англию. Мэри приглашает своих школьных друзей послушать рассказ об Англии.
III этап. Родители Мэри рассказывают друзьям дочери об Англии, показывают слайды. Учитель и школьные друзья дочери задают вопросы семье Браунов.
Оборудование: карта Англии, фотографии природы Англии, слайды с видами различных городов Англии, эмблема Англии - красная роза.
ХОД УРОКА
1. Начало урока. Организационный момент.
Teacher: Good morning, dear children. I'd like to know what your favourite subjects at school are. What lesson did you have before English? It was Geography, I see. Today we'll visit a lesson of Geography in one London school. After that we can listen to the story about England.
So, let's go to one London school! The lesson of Geography. This is a young teacher of Geography. Her name is Miss Bell.

Miss Bell: My name is Miss Bell. I am your new teacher of Geography. It's time to begin our lesson. Today we shall talk about England. It has five regions: the Southeast, he Southwest, East Anglia, the Midlands and the North of England. Who wants to tell us about the Southeast?
Peter: I'd like to tell you about the Southeast. It is an industrial area famous for its resorts and historical centres - Windsor, Dover and Brighton. Tw3o main passenger airports -Heathrow and Gatwick - are situated there.

Miss bell. Very good, thank you. And now Jane will tell us about the area, which past was romantic.
Jane. I think, we can say that Southwest is the region, which past was connected with brave pirates. This romantic place is very popular with artists, who come there to paint and writers who come there to write their books or poems and holidaymakers to spend good time there.

Mrs.Bell. All right. And who wants to tell us about the most isolated area of England?
Mike. I am sure, the question is about East Anglia. This area is isolated from the rest of Britain because of its position away from the main roads and because half of its territory is surrounded by the sea.

Mrs.Bell. All right. Now Helen will tell us about the Midlands.
Helen. It is an industrial area with Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield and a big port Liverpool. But it is also connected with English culture. Oxford is famous for its university. Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

Mrs.Bell. All right. And who wants to tell us about the Lake District?
Nick. I will. It is the main attraction of the north of England. There are deep valleys, rivers and waterfalls, hills and mountains. Many poets and artists come to this romantic place.

II этап игры. Беседа двух подруг.
Mary: I say, Jane! What is our homework on Geography? I was ill.
Jane: Oh, Mary! I haven't seen you for ages! Where have you been all this time?
Mary. In summer I and my parents visited England. We had a good time there. Would you like to know more about England?
Jane. Yes, of course. And besides our homework is to read about industry and political system of England.
Mary. Then you may come to me and my parents will tell you a lot of interesting facts about England.
Jane. Yes, certainly.
III этап игры.
Семья Браунов встречает друзей своей дочери и рассказывает им об Англию Мэри представляет друзьям своих родителей.
Mary. This is Helen Brown. She is my mother. She is a teacher of English.
Helen. Glad to meet you!
Mary. And this is my father John Brown. He is an economist.
John Brown. Nice meeting you! You want to know everything about England, don't you?
Miss Bell. Yes, of course. Would you like to tell us about English industry?
John Brown: With pleasure. England is rich in coal and gas, machine-building; motor car and ship building are highly developed.
Затем идет беседа об Англии. John Brown и Helen Brown рассказывают о городах Англии, о ее столице, о политической системе Англии, о растениях страны. После этого Helen Brown более подробно рассказывает об Англии, демонстрируя рисунки и слайды.
Например:
Helen Brown: Look at this picture, please. It's a wonderful building of the Houses of Parliament. You know, there are two houses in the Parliament: the House of Commons and the House of Lords./и т.д/
После рассказа и показа слайдов ученики задают "родителям Мэри" различные вопросы:
Peter: What kind of state is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland? Whom does the power belong in the U.K.?
Jane: What are the main agricultural products of the U.K.?
Mike: Are many of the lakes and rivers of England polluted today?
После беседы друзья Мэри благодарят ее родителей за интересный рассказ об Англии.
Peter: Thank you very much for your story. This wonderful story will help us to get only good marks.
The Browns: Don't mention it. Good-bye.
Учитель заканчивает урок и благодарит всех за участие в ролевой игре.
Teacher: Thank you for your good work at the lesson. You are wonderful actors and you know everything about England!
