Цели: развитие критического мышления, посредством чтения художественного текста.

Задачи:

  1. Развитие навыков чтения художественного текста с целью понимания основного содержания.
  2. Развитие языковых навыков устной речи (умение описывать персонажей текста, высказывать мнение и догадку).

Этапы урока

Introduction

Вступительное слово учителя о целях и задачах урока, о новом приеме и структуре урока.

I stage – Exciting interest

Вызов.

Цели:

  1. актуализация имеющихся знаний по теме «Путешествие»;
  2. пробуждение интереса к получению новой информации (прием «Кластер») (St ~ Т).

What are your associations when you hear the word "Travelling"?

– What do you think:

  1. Can travelling be dangerous nowadays?
  2. What dangers can a traveller face today?
  3. What knowledge and skills can be useful for a traveler nowadays?
  4. Have you ever heard about the writer – James Aldridge?

II stage – Comprehending

Осмысление – работа с отрывками текста.

Цели:

  1. поддержать активное восприятие материала и интерес к нему;
  2. расширить знания по теме.
  1. ph. Reading the information about the writer – James Aldridge. (T ~ Cl)
  2. ph. What do you think about the plot of the story " The Last Inch" (St1 ~ St2)
    (pupils give the predictions about the text)
  3. ph. – Reading the 1st part of the text. (2–3 min.)
    T ~ Cl – How do you think – did Ben manage to shoot his film?
    Did Davy help his father to shoot a film?
    What was Davy's help?
  4. ph. – Reading the 2nd part of the text. (2–3 min.)
    T ~ Cl – Do you think Davy could operate with the plane?
    Did he hope that his father would help him?
    Would his father be able to help Davy?
  5. ph. – Reading the 3rd part of the text. (3–4 min)
    T ~ Cl – Do you think Ben's advise was useful for Davy?
    Was Davy afraid of operating with the plane?
