III. Монологическая речь

Группа учащихся из Улан-Удэ совершают “экскурсию” по Лондону. Они слушают пояснения “гидов” (английских школьников) о достопримечательностях города.

Imagine there are two groups of children: a group of pupils from Ulan-Ude and a group of students from London. I hope that we'll enjoy our “trip” to London.

London is one of the most famous and interesting cities in Europe. There are lots of places to visit in London: museums, art galleries, theatres. There are lots of cinemas, stadiums and parks in London. It is the capital of the UK. it's a mixture of old and new buildings.

Tourists in London always visit Westminster and see Big Ben. They see the clock in its Tower and hear the bells. Big Ben is really a bell. You can hear it every hour. It is a big bell. It has a deep tone, and you can hear it on the radio “This is the BBC. The time is six о clock”.

The Tower of London is very old. It has a long and cruel history. The tall building is the White Tower, the oldest part of the Tower is near the river. You do not see blood there today. But the Bloody Tower has a history of blood – the blood of men, women and even children.

Now the King and the Queen of Britain do not live in the Tower. They live in Buckingham Palace.

Westminster Abbey, a symbol of England, is not far from the Houses of Parliament. The legend says that Westminster Abbey was founded by St. Peter himself. But we know that Westminster Abbey was built in 1065. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey. Many famous English people are buried here.

The famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. The Houses of Parliament stand beside the river Thames. You can go on a boat from Westminster and see London from the river.

It is one of the famous bridges across the Thames. This is Tower Bridge, built in 1894. It is next to the Tower of London. It opens and ships go up and down the River Thames.

This is Buckingham palace the place where British kings and queens live when they are in London. Important visitors often go to the palace. They meet Queen Elizabeth and the royal family inside the palace.

A lot of tourists go to Buckingham Palace. They stand outside and see the Changing of the Guard.

IV. Монологическая речь

Учащиеся из Улан-Удэ по приглашению в гостях у лондонских школьников и рассказывают им о своем городе.

I live in Ulan-Ude. It is a big city, the capital of Buryatia. It is not far from the Baikal. There are high mountains near the city.

There are many hotels in our city. They are comfortable.

Ulan-Ude is a lovely city. It is a mixture of old and new buildings. There are some museums and theatres. The museum of nature is famous. The opera house is well-known in our country.

There are many schools and universities here. I go to school 46. It is a very good school.

Impressive streets are full of people. They go to the shops and supermarkets, to schools and offices.

I like my town very much.
