Развивающая цель: совершенствовать навыки связной речи, развивать мышление, память, стимулировать самостоятельность учащихся, формировать познавательный интерес учащихся к предмету.
Воспитательная цель: прививать интерес к культуре, традициям, достопримечательностям Лондона, формировать уважительное отношение к иной культуре, традициям и обычаям другой культуры, воспитывать умение работать в коллективе, в группе, паре.
Учебно-наглядные пособия: карта Великобритании, Лондона, флаг Великобритании, открытки, ксерокопии с достопримечательностями Лондона, рисунки детей с достопримечательностями Лондона, стенд "Welcome to London", карточки с пословицами, карточки с детскими “паспортами”, карточки с диалогами, аудио кассета, диск с проектами (презентация достопримечательностей Лондона) ребят, мультимедийное оборудование, компьютеры.

Who knows what role the proverbs play in our language, in our life?

P2: The proverb is wisdom which goes from generation to generation.
T: Good for you. On the table you can see the cards with the English proverbs. Please, find the other half of the English proverbs. You have 1 minute. After that I shall say Russian equivalent of these proverbs and you show me the cards with this proverb.

Т: Now we can look at these proverbs on the board and let's read these sentences together. Listen and repeat after me. (читаем хором) Ok! That's right.
T: As you remember, today we have an unusual lesson- an excursion around London. But before we start our journey you should fill in the passport. We see the passport. Who can translate these words in your passport ? (дети переводят)

OK! Please look at the picture. Now we are flying from Chelyabinsk to London, (на экране летит самолет из России (Челябинска) в Лондон (приложение 1). We prepared for this exertion last lessons and we made the route around London. Let's look at the map of London and we can see our route (на магнитной доске висит карта Лондона с отмеченным на ней маршрутом) Now we are in London.
IV. Защита проектов.
(На экране появляются картинки с изображениями Лондона) (приложение 1)
P1: Dear guests! You are welcome to London. As you know. London stands on the river Thames. London, the capital of G.B., is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. Many years ago London was a small town on the Thames. Now London is a big port and a beautiful city with large squares and parks. About 7 million live here. (учитель оценивает ученика) На экране появляется картинка с Tower Bridge.
Р2: And now we start our tour from Tower Bridge. T.B. is the only Thames bridge which can be raised. The road over the bridge is built on two central sections, they open two or three times a week. Let s sing the song Tower Bridge is falling down, (дети поют песню, учитель оценивает ученика). На экране- the Tower of London.
P3: On the right bank of the Thames you can see the Tower of London. The
Tower of London is a very old building. It is nine hundred years old. In the early days of the history of England the English kings lived here. Then it was a prison where many people died. Black ravens had much food near the walls of the tower in those years. The English people like them very much. A man looks after the ravens and gives them food in the morning and in the evening. The Tower of London is a museum now. На экране - Snt. Pauls Cathedral.
P4: Now you can see Snt. Pauls Cathedral. One of the greatest English churches, Snt. Pauls Cathedral, is not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christofer Wren built it after the Great Fire. It is a beautiful building with many columns and towers. На экране - Trafalgar Square.
P5: The center of London is Trafalgar Square. It is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument.

T: Do you want to stay more on Trafalgar Square and remember Big Ben? I'd
like to recite a poem about London's famous clock tower - Big Ben. Stand up, please and repeat after me. (на экране появляется изображение Big Ben; дети выполняют движения за учителем)

P7: As Irina Pavlovna said the large clockin one of the towers is Big Ben. Big
Ben is the name of the clock and the bell of the clock tower of the House of Parliament. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London. The clock and the bell got their names after Sir Benjamin Hall. He was a tall man, whose nickname was Big Ben. So people know the clock as Big Ben.

P8: The Thames is behind the Houses of Parliament and the bridge across it is
Westminster Bridge. On the other side of Parliament is Westminster Abbey. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It is very old too. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are so many monuments and statues there. Many English kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poet's Corner.

Р9: Now we are at Buckingham Palace. It is the London home of the Queen. The ceremony of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace is a great tourist attraction. To the sounds of music the guardsmen in their traditional bearskins arrive and give the palace keys to another group.
P10: The first monarch who took residence there was Queen Victoria. When
Her Majesty is in residence the Royal Standard flies over the east front of Buckingham Palace. It has 600 rooms, a swimming pool, a cinema, a ballroom, a garden, and so on.

the English people in different situations. Please make up dialogues according to the tasks given below. Take your card, (учитель раздает карточки с диалогами) Imagine that

And now, please look at the picture. We are flying from London to Chelyabinsk. It s a pity, but our tour is over. I think that we knew more about London. Now we can make the test “How well do you know London?”. You will see your mark after you answer the questions. You have 5 minutes.
Дети садятся за компьютеры, выполняют тест “Как хорошо ты знаешь Лондон?” (приложение 2) в течение пяти минут, узнают свою оценку.
