Ход урока
I. Подготовительный этап.
I.1. Организационный момент.
Teacher: Hi, boys and girls! I'm glad to see you. Let's begin our lesson. The theme of our lesson is "Favourite animals". Today we are going to speak about animals. And it's necessary to revise grammar material: Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives.
I.2. Фонетическая разминка.
Teacher: First of all let's prepare our tongues for the English language. Close your eyes and repeat after me. [ i, o, ?, (breathe in, out), p, t, k, (breathe in, out) w, w, w, wow, ?].
Now let's work at the sound [?]. Listen to the rhyme. Translate the rhyme. Repeat after me twice. Read the rhyme (3 pupils). Read as quickly as you can. Look at the poem and try to remember. Recite the poem by heart.

Teacher: Now tell us about your favourite animal. Don't name the animal and we try to guess it.
Children: I have got my favourite animal. His name is… He is big. He is grey. His ears are big. His eyes are small. His feet are large. He has got a long nose. His tail is short. He is kind. He lives in the forest. He likes to eat bananas. I like to watch him. I love my pet. And my pet loves me.
Teacher: Thank you. I see you like animals. So let's play the game "Unknown animal!" Come to the blackboard, think of an animal, all the rest ask him questions about his animal and guess it.
Children:
What colour is your animal?
What does he like to eat?
Where does he live?
Is he kind or angry?
Are his eyes big or small?
Is his tail long or short?
Teacher: I see you're smart boys and girls. And are you brave? Let's see it. Stand up everybody!

The World of animals is very rich. Do you know what is the biggest, the fastest, the tallest, animal in the world? What animal is a best eater? What animal can sing and what animal can smile?
It's interesting to know that the fastest animal is Gerard. Its record is 110 kilometers an hour.
It is hard to believe that the largest and the most impressive animals are Blue whales. They are 30 meters long and weigh about 125 tons. They are three times heavier than the biggest dinosaur.
They live from 60 to 80 years. The baby whale is 7 meters long and weighs 2 tons. It drinks 166 liters a day.
The tallest animal is Giraffe. It is about 7 meters high. The baby Giraffe is 2 meters high.
The best eaters are elephants. They eat 100 kilos of food a day and drink 189 liters a day.
They spend 16 hours a day eating.
The hardiest animal is the Arabian camel. It can walk 60 kilometers a day carrying about 300 kilos.
It’s interesting that the mice can sing.
White tigers live in India and they have blue eyes.
The Nile crocodile can smile.
Children: Big whales are the biggest animals in the world.
Gerard is the fastest animal in the world.
Best eaters are elephants.
The mice can sing.
