1) T: Good afternoon! How are you? How are your parents?

P1: What is a chest?
P2: “A chest” is upper front part of the body of a person.
P1:Well, what is a lung?
P3: “ A lung” is one of the two organs of breathing in the chest of a man.
P1: What is a tongue?
P4: A tongue is a movable organ in the month, used for tasting and swallowing or speaking.
P1: And now name the parts of the body.
P5: This is a head (an ear, a face etc.)
T: I see, you know the men’s anatomy very well. What good rules for keeping fit do you know?
P1: Get up early and go to bed early.
P5: Wash your hands before you eat.
P2: Take regular exercises.
P6: Too little food makes you thin.

P7: Too much food makes you fat.

T: I see you know all the rules very well and you will follow them. But there are some pupils who don’t follow them. I want you to make up some dialogues. Discuss in pairs and groups the following situations:
1) doctor and a boy who doesn’t take care of his health.
2) doctor and a boy who eats much food.
3) doctor and a girl who is an example of keeping fit.
There will be a group of future doctors who will have a talk about the first medical aid.
Dialogue 1. A talk between a doctor and a boy who doesn’t take care of his health
Doctor: Would you like to come in?
Patient: Thank you. (He coughs)
Doctor: That cough sounds really very bad. How long have you had it?
Patient: For about two weeks.
Doctor: I think I should listen to you chest and lungs. Take off your shirt. Breathe in deeply, that’s right… and once more, please. Sit down. I’m going to take your blood pressure.
Patient: Oh, doctor, what about my lungs and chest and blood pressure?
Doctor: You are seriously ill. Your blood pressure is 60/90. It is very bad. Do you smoke?
Patient: Yes. About three cigarettes a day.
Doctor: You should not smoke at all. Your health is in danger.
Patient: Oh, doctor, I’m afraid. What should I do?
Doctor: First of all stop smoking, take regular exercise, eat healthy food and go in for sport.

Doctor: Let me take your blood pressure and listen to your heart. Breathe, breathe in deeply.
Patient: What about my heart and blood pressure?
Doctor: Show me your tongue, please. You have a heart attack. You are seriously ill. You suffer from fatty heart. It is dangerous.
Patient: Oh, doctor. Can you help me? What can you advise me?
Doctor: Keep to a diet. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Don’t forget the proverb “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”.
Patient: Thanks, doctor. I shall follow your recommendations.
Dialogue 3. A talk between a doctor and a girl who is an example of keeping fit.
Doctor: Dear students! Look at this very pretty girl. She looks fantastic. You really look healthy.
Student: I guess I do. I hardly ever get a cold, may bounce in two or three years. I never suffer from anything.
Doctor: No headaches, backaches, pains in stomach?
Student: No, and my legs don’t hurt and my arms don’t hurt either.
Doctor: Do you think that’s because of your diet or the exercise you take?
Student: Oh, I don’t know. I mean I like food and I think I eat healthy food: fruits and vegetables. I don’t like sweets. So, as you see, I can’t say I keep to a diet.
Doctor: No, definitely not. Do you take regular exercises?
Student: Not enough I think. In summer I like to run and jump, to swim and to ride. In winter I am fond of skating and skiing.
Doctor: Well, students, I think you must follow her lifestyle.
Work in groups.

Doctor: What must people do if they have a headache?
Student: If they have a headache they must go to bed, take some medicine and air the room.
Doctor: What must people do if they cannot sleep?

Doctor: What must people do if they have got cold?
Student: If they have got a cold they must go to bed, drink a warm milk with honey.
Research work.
We tested junior, senior student. We asked the questions:
- Do you go in for sports?
- Do you clean your teeth every day?
- Do you eat the right food?
- When do you go to bed?
- How much time do you spend watching TV?
- We have tested 80 junior pupils and 75 senior students. For the 1st question 52 senior and 52 junior students said, “Yes”
- Do you clean your teeth? 63 junior and 65 senior pupils said, “Yes”
- Do you eat the right food? 50 junior and 43 senior pupils said, “Yes”
- When do you go to bed? 66 junior pupils go to bed before 10 o’clock and 28 senior pupils after 10 o’clock.
- How much time do you spend watching TV? 54 junior pupils watch TV about 3 hours and 41 senior pupils watch TV about 3 hours.
The conclusion: We can expect these diseases:
- The first is psychiatric problems
- The second - eye ache problems
- The third - stomachache problems
