Give a talk about personal identity
Remember to say:
- Describe someone of your friends. Mention physical details and something about his personality.
- Do you think that person’s appearance can show his character? In what way can it?
- Say what you would like your friends to look like?
- Why do you think some people are easier to get along with than others?
My best friend is rather good-looking. He is of middle height and well-built. As for his personal traits of character, he is honest and always tells me the truth. He is reliable so I can share all my secrets with him. My best friend is also a very kind person. He is always ready to help others. What is more, my friend is funny and he has a great sense of humour so it’s always fun to be in his company.
I strongly believe that person’s appearance can’t reflect their character. A gloomy -looking guy often turns out to be friendly but a shy one isn’t easy to get on with others. However, a person who seems sympathetic turns out to be selfish when you get in trouble.
My best friend looks the way he does. We both share the idea - if people start thinking to change something in their best friend - it is not a true friendship any more, it’s only a waste of time. I strongly believe that a friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself.
Some people are easier to get on with than others because they are easy- going and make friends quickly. Those who are not outgoing try to stay aside in a company of strangers and find it more difficult to fit in.
