Preparation:

Find a scene picture

Procedure:
Step 1. The teacher asks the student (the child) to look at the picture.
Step 2. The teacher uses simple sentences which describe the picture and asks to say "yes" or "no".
Step 3. The teacher says the beginning of the sentence and asks the student to complete each sentence with one word. The teacher uses the object cards which can help the student to choose the word.
Step 4. The teacher asks questions about the objects, people, colour, place, actions etc. The student points or gives short answers.

Variation(s)

The student uses more than one word to answer teacher's questions. Or if the teacher has a group of students every student can say one sentence to describe the picture. The sentences should be different. Then the teacher asks one student to say as many sentences as she or he can.

Reflections

The teacher asks the student to fill in the form: I know all the words to speak, I don't know any words, I don't know many words, I understand my teacher's questions, it's easy, it's difficult. The student puts a tick.
